I'm just surprised as to why Brabus would bother with such a monstrosity. They proved with the Rocket that their cars don't need to look so hideous. :eusa_thin

Let's get one thing settled: this is not about engineering, no matter how many people try to ram this idea down our throats. This is about looks or, to be more precise, about images. The engineers at MB must be going mental because they - more than anyone - realize that you don't need to modify the top-of-the-range W212 like this to achieve the figures Brabus claims and, even if extensive modifications are necessary, most of the Brabus trinkets are more worthy of superfluous, bulky, rich-kid-pleasing, ricer-boy antics than they are of proper vehicle modification.

Comparing this to the M5? Please. The M5's V10 is more of an engineering marvel than this - fail-mobile - can ever aspire to be.

This is just a toy for immature, intellectually-stunted, vain, absurd people who are a waste of freaking oxygen - as is the Brabus biturbo. New-money rich kids trying to show off. I am not impressed. :eusa_naug
 
Well, don't get mad now. ;) I'm just finding your sudden "engineering before aesthetics"-stance somewhat hard to believe since I remember you having close to zero respect for the McLaren F1 and saying you don't see Porsche on the same level with other sportscarmakers such as Lamborghini because they don't make flashy cars.

Lol...I'm not mad, just wondering why your bring up a post from 5 months ago to justify why a 500hp M5 could beat an 800hp tunned E-class.

Seems like the main issue in this thread is the actual look and price of the car. If you took away the look of it and lowered the price people would be falling all over this car.
 
Ugliest, messiest, most absurd, most non cohesive piece of crap I've ever seen. Most overpriced too.

I don't care if it has 2,000 HP, I wouldn't want to be caught in that embarrassment mobile.

These tuners are doing a great job of showing off the busyness of and remind me as to why I don't like the design of the W212. I still think the simple AMG kits are the only thing that ties together the look of the car best (no surprise at all there).

Did they all recently start on a crack addiction or something? How the hell do they go from that^^^^ to what they've done with the new car. It's like the term "class" doesn't exist with the new offering?

I must confess that I've harboured a secret appreciation for the sheer madness and brutality of Brabus' creations. In the past they had done some pretty classy aftermarket work on Mercedes Benzes that neither detracted from the core appeal of the Merc underneath nor placed Brabus in the light of yet-another-aftermarket tuner.
Brabus' work on E-Classes, S-Classes, CLSes and G-Wagen was just super in an autobahn ganglord kind of way.

This new EV12 is the height of bad taste and absurdity. The only thing it'll burn a hole through is its tires after 15 minutes of full-bore, maximum attack driving. There is such a thing as too much power.
 
If I were Mercedes I'd send a big, burly, pissed off German man into their office to "knock some sense into them", if ya know what I mean.... ;)
