Company highlights their restoration process
Brabus Classic has announced plans to display a handful of models at the Techno Classica show.

The Mercedes 280 SL will take center stage as Brabus will display three different models including a W 111 series and a W 113 Pagoda. The company will also showcase a 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet, a 560 SL (R 107) and a rolling chassis from a 300 SL Gullwing.

According to Brabus, the restoration process starts with a complete disassembly of the base car to the "last nut and bolt." The components are then inspected and catalogued to determine which parts are able to be reconditioned.

While work is being performed on the body, the engine is disassembled so it can be completely overhauled. The transmission, driveshaft and differential are also restored to ensure everything is in working order.

As the car is getting put back together, all the suspension and brake components are replaced by new parts to ensure the car is safe to drive.

Even the interior is improved as employees recondition the wood trim and reupholster the cabin with high quality cloth or leather.

Brabus says the restoration process takes thousands of hours to complete and "does not come cheap."

The 300 SL convertible from 1950s. One of the most beautiful, maybe the most beautiful of all Mercedes cars. The 1950s and 1960s Benz cars had the flamboyance unmatched in the later years. Even the beautiful and modern W126 and the sleek W116 look pedestrian (relatively) appearing in the same photograph (1st one) next to the 4 beautiful 280 SE of W108 era. Although, the W116 is the most underrated of all the S classes. The "Lion faced" beauty is simply magnificent.

Absolutely beautiful machines. W124 is easily, one of the best-looking cars ever built. So well-balanced & well-built.

This is the most special Mercedes of the modern era IMO. Before 1980 I'm no Mercedes expert, but since I've been alive this is the most coveted Benz. They're so hard to find now. Their numbers were small to begin with and they shrink every year. One day, one day.
