Exactly my view on it too. It's the significant power disparity between the two which makes me wanna take the Le Mans, ..because when it comes to visual appeal, I'm in love with the X5 4.8iS, especially in that Le Mans Blue colour. Great looking vehicle!!

As for the Le Mans, ..well, as Alex said, better rims would be real nice..!! as would an update on the front lights and grille to match the current X5.

Just wondering guys, ..how come the X5 4.8iS has a 4.8L engine, and 'only' churns out 360hp ?? I know it ain't exactly an '///M' car, but I thought the engine could do better than that. Or is it simply because the competition had around the same hp level, so no need trying to have a 450hp engine, when the competition only had around 350hp anyway ??

The engine is developed by Alpina and not BMW. BMW just bought the engine and now using it

Im 100% sure, 4.8is is based on 4.6is the one Alpina developed.
The engine BMW now use in 750i is probably the old Alpina engine but a updated version.

Well, I did a little calculating (very little actually) ...and well, this engine has 75hp/L ...so it guess that isn't too shabby at all. Im guessing that Alpina make their engines that way, ..and then once they add the supercharger the engine reaches near or over 100hp/L.

The engine isnt the only thing. Alpina has developed a few things that BMW now use in their cars. So Alpina isnt just another tuner company, BMW and Alpina are very close.
