X1 BMW X1: CGIs, spy pics & info

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.

Re: BMW X1 Concept: Official pics and info.

No the first picture belongs to a early prototype so it cannibalizes parts for the interior where all the focus is on chassis development , at this stage the interior would not be necessary .
There will be a family resemblance with the interior of the X1 and of course it will be recognisable with it's bigger X line brothers.

But it is an interesting little car for up and coming families and a perfect choice for throwing a couple of weekend bags or sports equipment in the car and heading off on an unknown destination.

I have an X1 xDrive2.0d over the Christmas period as the car becomes my office and creative think tank over the festive period. Plus I add my thoughts and comments to the development log.
However nothing new on the exterior it is still covered in camouflage and even my kids cannot see out of the rear quarterlights.
It definetely attracts attention more so than the Porsche GT2 when it was parked at a local furniture store.

Yeah, but wait until there is no camo left on the X1 and you park it next to a GT2....Nobody will even look at the X1.

More attention than a 911 GT2....LMAO!!!

This one is particularly interesting:

... showing dash layout ala 1er :usa7uh:

That IS the 1er dash fitted into an early prototype of the X1. The real X1 interior will not look like that.......

BMW must have a thing with Chicago, they had the 7er there as well...

BTW, Chicago is the only major U.S city I still have to visit. I badly want to go to the windy city....maybe this summer....

We can have a GCF meet. :usa7uh:

The car is really small.

Eg ...

X1 vs Tiguan (LxWxHxWB):

X1 (in mm): 4,457 x 1,789 (excl. mirrors) x 1,535 x 2,760
Tiguan (in mm): 4,427 x 1,809 (excl. mirrors) x 1,685 x 2,605

So, X1 is a tad longer (+3cm), a bit narrower (-2cm), much lower (-15cm), and having much longer wheelbase (+15.5cm) than Tiguan.

:t-cheers:

4Motion is better than X-drive...:D

I know i'm not gonna like the car from now, don't like the proportions from that pic.

Great of VW to pick up some driving dynamics, even if it is from a ditch ;-)
