Official Thread BMW Vision Neue Klasse

Floating roof (iX),
The iX's floating roof (half-floating) originates from the 2013 i3, which in turn derives from the fully floating roof that MINI popularized in 2000.
the iX3 still has trim on the top part
It has the door frames above
Maybe I am missing something.
I was referring mainly to the innovation in exterior design, especially the important details; the interior layout has also been copied countless times.
to this render
That one turned out pretty weird

What details though, that’s what I’m wondering. And who has copied BMWs interiors recently? I gave examples of what BMWs been copying from others I’m struggling to come up with stuff they’ve done recently that’s been copied.

The floating roof mentioned in the iX and i3 is present in half of Chinese models, the shapes that give personality to the bodywork, the small details on the bumpers, the body creases, the shapes of the front and hood in relation to the windshield giving the design a strong presence—if you investigate, you'll find that the brand's developments over the years have influenced many models of other brands. For example, flame surfacing has evolved in one way or another to become the standard for lots of brands today, and BMW isn't the only one. Mercedes and Audi (among others) have also set the standard in many aspects for the rest of the industry.

I don’t see anyone copying BMWs modern bodywork or creases though. None of this stuff I see on other cars have been copied from recent BMWs.

I agree with you on flame surfacing, that is when BMW had a lot new ideas and was copied a ton. But that was 20 years ago lol, even i3 floating roof was almost 15 and that project probably got started right at the tail end of Bangle’s tenure.

A new teaser of the light bands on the grill.

With the abundance of teasers and videos released over the course of the past few days, the task becomes all the easier for digital illustrators:

One could most likely color this "NAILED".

If you watch the teaser, it's clear he didn't; he just put the elements together, but the difference between a good design and a great one lies in the minute details. We need to stop glorifying renderers.
Sugar Design almost beat you using AI, almost.
I expect a flood of them this week. The A I data centres will be at full capacity.
Yes, the deluge of inaccurate images is becoming unbearable.

Nailed to what? The cross?
I well and truly hope it doesn't look like this.

Purely out of my own curiosity...are you in some way professionally involved in automotive or industrial design ? Or perhaps a matriculated student of automotive/industrial design ? My question would apply to @Esp5 as well. I'm not trying to "be cute". I'm honestly interested.

No to both. I just don't think that render looks good.
