Official Thread BMW Vision Neue Klasse

Guys this is the Vision NK thread, not the 3er/i3 thread!

The same stuff is being posted in different threads now.

They both have this angular greenhouse. Mercedes should really go back to that too instead for their pebble round designs of the last 15 years.

Not only the greenhouse that is so compelling on the NA0 i3.

The camofoil is now only a very thin film, showing the nuances of the flank surfacing. And IMHO, it looks amazing. So clean and so supportive of the wheelarch sheetmetal sculpturing, I trust that BMW designers have taken the same route as with the new ix3. That is: absolutely devoid of tacked-on, ornamental crap. I hope that Audi follows this example with their uncoming "Radical Next" vehicles as well. As for M-B: It may take a while before we see the results of new incoming chief designer Bastian Baudy's efforts. We may have to hold our breaths until the very end of this decade.

It appears very "conceptual" and appears to feature little that reflects a notable degree of serial production accuracy.
Beyond the obvious details like the lack of a B-pillar, I believe that overall it largely reflects the essence of what we'll see in production, that apparent modernity and stance will be present in the final model, just as it was with the iX3. In that particular sense, IMO, it's one of the best renders so far.

After having lacked a proper personality on most if not all renders up until now, those very slim Chinese-trying-to-look-modern-but-nondescript-style tail lights seeming completely lost in the middle of a flat and bare upper trunklid -- especially compared to the very lively, muscular, recognizable and BMW-like G20 -- suddenly the rear fascia of the NA0/G50 gains all the character it was dearly missing, thanks to that crease running right above the tail lamps and supporting them, providing all the volume and shadow that are needed for this geometrical design to work. A very gifted digital artist indeed.
