You're from the U.S right? They sold like more than half over there, the biggest reason for its success.

They are indeed incredibly cool. I've driven one a few times, silver with red interior. Absolute experience. I have forgotten a lot over the years, but not that.

Should this not be "bogus"...

It seems to be pretty...and yet...a bit disappointing. Somehow "too familiar" and not appearing to be a product of a new, modern, minimalistic "Missoni School of Design". The grill appears to have been directly taken from the G14/15/16 8ers. But the lighting units, front and back seem cool. Frankly, I find the new NKL BMWs far more interesting from the design point of view.

There’s something about these two images that bothers me too.
I ran both images through several ‘AI-generated’ detectors and they all said they were genuine, but I’m still a bit sceptical.
That’s why I wrote “Possible” leak.

The cliff-tip one is almost definitely fake. The wheels are just plainly wrong, they're not 20 spoke and they don't feature the bi-colour elements shown in the press release. The glass roof that we've seen in the official shot isn't visible either, which it would be.

I'd perhaps buy the rear shot being maybe being real, though as I said, it doesn't appear to use the new BMW Alpina word mark, so I doubt that's genuine either.
