RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I crapped myself!!!!!!!!
BEST thing my eyes have EVER seen... I'll go cry now

A clever and fresh reimagining. Almost reminds me of this which was also an independent exercise.

We once talked about a heritage series of the homage models using existing mechanicals but purely bespoke interiors and exteriors. Of course you had to add all the cost together in regards to crash safety etc etc. And the economic crisis happened as well so it did not become practical nor feasible.

One thing is certain is that the luxury market is looking for something new to offer a customer. Hypothetically Bespoke models built on existing cars such as the M6 and M4 could be that direction that could be taken to bring a sophisticated but original direction to the luxury market.
Directions taken to accommodate 2 Architectures , FWD , X model expansion , Toyota partnership and CFRP production could essentially contribute fund a programme for bespoke models.

Although this is an independent project. The modern lounge like minimalist interior with tasteful wood and lines of chrome around the edges of panelling and switchgear in which technology seems like an infiltrator. Offers an insight into the next 7er and future interiors of BMW models.

They are running out of niches, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or series X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 ........ and so.
in view of this, it would be a very good idea to create a new niche of "homage models" as the CS 1968 or even older classics, but with this type of retrolook
If BMW made a niche for the 5 GT, why not make a new niche / series with a 2002, CS, e30, etc., all homage?
I think it would be more successful than it may seem

I guess I'm in the minority but I'm not feeling it. However, slap on a Lada badge on it and I think it'll work wonders.

This concept leaves me recalling an automobile that left me very impressed during my youth. A then-new 3.0 CSi owned by a friend of my family. Silver-grey metallic with a dark blue velours/leather interior and Alpina alloys. A tremendously attractive car. Elegant and swift.

I can appreciate the rather minimalistic design of this concept. I find myself being a bit "on and off" with regard to the current F12/F13/F06 6 series cars. While stellar in stance and general proportions, some elements appear a bit contrived. Oddly, the "shark nose/wake" signature seems to work on the M6 derivatives better than on the more pedestrian versions. I assume this being a product of accentuation and increased track.

Rumor has it that 6 series successor will be more of a sportscar than a GT 2+2 speciman. Perhaps there will be room for an eventual bonafide large luxury coupe. As one poster indicated, something along the lines of the rather uninspiring Gran Lusso concept in terms of dimensions. And yet, something more like the faultless 2007 CS concept in terms of aesthetics.

Oh yes...an offering of bespoke automobiles quoting legendary BMW vehicles of the past (as mentioned previously by a poster) would really be ÜBERcool !!

Have it been made as an hommage to another BMW model, i would have considered it as a modest effort, but here we talk about the best designed BMW ever and sorry but this is a disgrace.

Fly Wheel reported: BMW CS Vintage Concept

Old cars have their own beauty which cannot be replaced by the modern products. But the new cars come with technologies which outshine everything. So what about mixing the old school styling with the technologies from the current world. To give a better idea here is the BMW CS Vintage concept which takes design inspirations from the 1968 E9 Series and the 1965 BMW 2000 CS.

The BMW CS Vintage concept is based on the 6 series platform so it will be loaded with all the technologies even though the styling is from the old school. But if BMW decided to put forward such a model, then it will make a big change in the Industry. People like the old cars design, but they won’t go and buy it because it will be very hard to run. But if they get a car like the CS Vintage both the young and old generation will be satisfied.

Even the interior of the CS Vintage concept is inspired from the 1968 E9 Series and the 1965 BMW 2000 CS. The customers can opt for either the high quality wood trim or the hand stitch leather. The four circular instrument panel is retained, but they have four small TFT screen instead of the analog meters. The center console is dominated by the big i-drive screen and it comes with navigation. We really like the idea of the CS Vintage concept, give your feedback as comments.

I like the concept, inside and outside. @Scott or ENI: Is the size of the screen a hint to the size of the screen in the next 5/7-series?

Imagine them actually making this, and then keeping the drive old school too, with a very low weight and only the essential systems like power steering, ESP and ABS. Maybe an airco optional and that's it.
