Yep last Monday the 2009 fan event of the BMW Sauber F1 race club was on at the Nürburgring in Germany. Because we have a daughter for 3 months now my wife was not able to go along but my dad was happy to take her place. After a 3 hour drive (it is only 300km for me) we arrived at the BMW lounge in the Tüv tower at the track. At subscription I was informed that I had won a drive in an M3 on the race track. Well that already made my day because driving an M3 is something youo don't get to do every day (well at least I don't some of you lucky bastards do). So the count down was on, the run was planned for 16h30 and was only 9h00. First we went for a coffee to return to the track for the first demo run of the day. BMW superbike driver Time Corser would swap places with Nick Heidfeld. Nick too the superbike out n track and Time the F1.08. Heidfeld immediately had lots of fun as Timo was more unfortunate. It was clear to hear something was wrong with the car and after returning to the box he left a little later to complete some laps around the track. After the first demo session we went to eat something.
In the afternoon there was a second demo run planned with Kubica driving the F1.08 and Corser driving his superbike. They also did a drag race and belive it or not the F1.08 was faster then the superbike... . Must be said that the F1.08 was on slick tyres. After the second demo run there was a price draw for my group. The gave away further drives in the M3 a pair of signed racing gloves and a turning vane of the F1.06. I couldn't believe my ears if I heard them call out my number and I won the part of the F1.06 signed by Nick and Robert and also Mario Theissen.
Then I could go for the drive in the M3, 2 laps around the track behind a pacecar. I could have gone faster, but I must say I was realy surprised about the power and the handling of the M3... just need to win the lottery now, maybe I whould have played last monday as that was for sure my lucky day.
Below you can see some pics I took.

Lucky bugger! Congrats...

Still, didn't know that BMW Sauber F1 team had any fans! ;) :D Just kidding.

Really cool and interesting photos.

Great, the power, the acceleration the handling. Man I drive a normal 3 series every day but it's by driving the M car that you can feel the difference. And the brakes to are amazing much better then on a normal 3 series. If someone has 80000 Euro to spare just let me know :D
