Lol..Yea somebody is hiding something. Then again when there is a Mercedes/BMW fight thread something is bound to happen. I wonder if the SLS will be the first eletric sports car. Then again considering it not coming out until 2014, someone else could be the first.

When you calculate the emissions from electricity it should be calculated on the margin. Thus, it should be calculated from coal condensation until all coal plants have been replaced. Electrical cars will cause an increase in electricity demand which will cause an increase in coal condensation if no new plants are being build because hydro, wind, nuclear etc are already used to full capacity. If new plants are build/improved they could have been used to remove the coal condensation instead of the increased electricity demand. Therefore it should be calculated on the margin.

(In the academic world and by independent studies margin electricity is used, mixed or eco friendly electricity is mostly used by people trying to promote electricity. )

Like I said before, even coal power plants are way more efficient internal combustion engines - 40% vs 15%. Read this Electro Automotive: FAQ on Electric Car Efficiency & Pollution. It does take into consideration the pollution caused by power plants.

Just_me, you act as though were upset about it. The thing is if someone feels you deserve bad Karma, they should at least tell you why. Especially with threads like this.
