SL has the finest exterior but the interior award goes to M6, hands down. SL is really showing its age when I compare the interiors.

SL for me because of hard top and manual tranny.;)

You know, Dom, the SL doesn't have a manual tranny. The pre-facelifted SL350 had a sequential transmission (so not a manual either) but all the other engine versions had automatic as standard. With the facelift the SL350 also got auto-tranny (standard), so now all the versions of the SL are standardly fitted with A/T.

Sorry, my mistake. It's AMG. Damn, was I drunk when I wrote that?! But doesn't matter, SL still.

tough choice i love the looks, the V10 and the engine of M6...but in reality i'll probably choose SL cause of the Hard Top,and also because it's classy and elegant look.

Here's the final word. :usa7uh:

(The BMW M6 has very good handling, especially in curves and is also fascinating in terms of practicality.)

(It is also a technology-laden car with things such as a 7-speed SMG and a high-reving V10 engine. The SL might appear a bit boring these days, since we're so used to its style. That's not to say that it doesn't perform badly. The supercharged V8 fuses sound, power and practicality just as well.)

Das Variodach lässt den Roadster bei Bedarf zum Coupé mutieren und die makellose Verarbeitungsgüte sowie der gebotene Komfort untermauern seinen – erneuten – Testsieg. (The Varioroof (SL) allows the roadster to become a coupe, the quality of workmanship is high and it is also comfortable - enough for the win.)

:t-cheers:

One of my traditional favorites and one new favorite. The SL55 is still the one for me, but it is very close. There is something about a convertible 6 that makes me forget the ugly trunklid, or at least how it looks on the coupe.

My vote goes for the SL55 in this comparison.

I don't like the exterior profile of the M5. Looks kind of weird with that duck tail in the rear. Neither do I like the interior with the strange and sharp edges and kind of plastic looking center console. Not ok for a luxurious GT car.

Although the SL55 is a little old now I still like the looks of the car and the interior looks better than on the M6 IMO. Also the hard top cabrio and the torque of the SL55 makes it my favorite.

No contest IMO.......The SL is better looking and much more classy than that "butt ugly" M6, even if it does have a V10.

^ i agree, but "butt ugly" is way too strong. I was behind a black 650i cab today, and boy was that thing a beauty...

If you are looking from behind, you don't really notice the lines as much especially in black, IMO anyway :) . From the side profile, it just doesn't look right for me. The front end is alright though :usa7uh:

Neither.
Cabrios are too much poseurish. :D
Lower weight, better aerodynamics, superiour rigidity shouldn't be sacrificied like
this for cool it looks, or how much Paris Hilton likes them. :D
