M5 BMW M5 E60 Picture Thread [Sedan version only]

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
A white 'M5' pulled up to me today. I wound down my windows, hoping to hear that V10, and what came out was some foul burble, and worst, it sounded very much like something that would come out of a boy racer's fist-sized exhaust pipe.

The lengths people will go to to create an impression...

OT: I wonder how driving one of these in the snow would be? Probably something like a snowmobile.

Well, they work fine during wintertime here in Sweden. Thanks to its good weight distribution and a good set of tires.

Yeah, I guess RWD cars aren't so bad in snow, at least as bad as some in the automotive press would have you believe. I'd think with safety nets like DSC and DTC driving a BMW(at least) in the snow should be just fine, and of course that includes snow tires. Keep in mind that I wouldn't know a thing about driving in snow having been born and raised in Southern California.:t-cheers:

Lucky you! I wish we had the same climate here cause buying Wintertires is always an extra costs for us swedes.

I like the look of the '08 U.S. spec M5 so much more than this year and the last. They moved that nasty, fat orange lens outside of the inside of the headlamps and reduced it to a small orange strip on the bupmer. Looks so much better! :t-cheers: I love BMW!!!!

It's good because its not over the top and doesnt detract to far from the original design.... the only mod i have ever seen on a BMW that i like :usa7uh:

Wow i'm more interested in the bugatti in front of the M5, but nice pictures.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
