Vs BMW ///M vs AMG, Who tunes better?

Vehicle comparisons, matchups, debates, performance battles, and head-to-head discussions.
C63 'beter'? Says who? The only thing the C63 is better at is the straight line speed. For the rest the M3 is superior at everything. Much better car, much better chassis, MUCH better engine.

I'm leaving this thread because it will not end well if I stay :t-cheers:
bye :usa7uh:

Better engine in what way? Explain to us why you think that the bmw has a better engine other than the obvious fact that it is fitted with a bmw badge.

First of all don't use words like shit becasue that reflects your personality!

A person like you who buys SUBARU is better not to give any comment about German cars at all!! you had better post in Japanese cars forums.

I said M7 as a joke because you couldn't compare SLS with any of current M cars.

BMW have won much more engine of the year award than Mercedes so one victory is not enough to put Mercedes Upper than BMW in this category and when M5 v10 came out in 2005 for two years it won engine of the year award.

No matter what you or your 10 year old Mercedes fanatic friends think about BMW(which doesn't matter at all), Still BMW and also AUDI will win engine of the year awards more than Mercedes.

Engine weight is not the only factor for comparing engines. The main factors are torque and power outputs per liter and also torque curve and powerband.Again i will compare an even older BMW engine with your favourite to show you what does the word SHIT really mean!!

BMW M5 E34 3.8L from 1995
340hp@6900RPM 400nm@4750RPM from 3.8L 300nm@1800RPM!
redline:7200RPM
specific power:340/3.8=89.4 hp per liter
specific torque:400/3.8L=105.2 nm per liter

Mercedes E63 W211 AMG 6.2L from 2007
514hp@6800RPM 630nm@5200RPM from 6.2L 500nm@2000RPM!
redline:7200RPM
specific power:514/6.2=82.9 hp per liter
specific torque:630/6.2=101.6 nm per liter

Both engines deliver about 90% of their peak torque over 3000rpm of rev range.

BMW is 12 years older but:89>82 and 105>101 That is the real meaning of the world SHIT.

By the way if you want to argue with me again do not forget to be polite even if you are angry with BMW victory!

Completely and utterly stupid comments as I have bolded and underlined. Just because someone buys something that isnt german doesnt make them inferior or less knowledgeable about any subject in anyway, Grow up dude.

What I have noticed you left out from the comparison though is fuel consumption and emmissions. I would like to see some data on that too.

I just wonder if BMW M will go back on their word like last time and produce an M version of the new Z4. Seeing them on the roads now, it is the perfect looking roadster.

M
Well I don't think it was quite a case of BMW outright going against their word. I seem to recall them "covering their arses" with a "for the foreseeable future" disclaimer. The future, to BMW, is relative to who's looking.

With that said, I'm really glad they did an M version of the Z4 - particularly the Coupe which turned out to be one of the most marvelous of the M Division's creations. Very sporty, very uncompromising and with immense road presence for such a small car. I love it and I seriously, badly want one. My only constraint? I need a third garage. Which means I need a bigger house. Now there's where the big outlay's at...

As for the Z4M Coupe - BMW Approved Used prices are good - you're looking at around GBP 28,000 for a 2008, 11,000 miler. That's a helluva lot of car and performance for the money. In my mind, if you're a BMW M enthusiast and you're shopping to a budget, a well looked-after Z4M Coupe brings rich man's performance for regular man's money.

It's one thing to attack some new guy, it's completely different to attack one of the oldest and more revered members on this board.

No offense buddy, but you might wanna shut your yapping simply because of the fact that you haven't been here long enough to know Martin and the fact that he is our technical guru.

Trust me, it's for your own good. :usa7uh:

Im still praying next M5 is out of this world , hella good

BMW will never mess up the M5. I'm an MBZ fan and even I realize that the M5 will always be extraordinary; that's what BMW does, build cars with great chassis.

Do I think AMG is better than BMW M?

For years, M has focused on building cars that not only go fast but can also dance.
Rewind four years ago, and all an AMG could do was go fast in a straight line.

I guess MB got the message, because the C63, E63, and SLS are all extremely fast, yet also handle like no other Benz.

While AMG has made some big improvements with their cars, BMW M has consistently made performance cars that offer a thrilling ride, and I can't ignore that.

But just wait for the SLS, my friends...

M

Yes, I think it would be good for BMW to build a proper M for the Z4 M. It will probably make up for the issue that M fans are having with the X6 and X5 M. I'm sure they might reconsider...maybe by next year or early 2011?:t-hands:

I'm sure it will be amazing. I'm sure M will keep up with the tradition with the next M3 and M5. Those two cars really are what M is all about.
