X3/X4 [Spy Shots] BMW iX3 2025 (NA5)

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.

Ok, so just keep the iDrive controller for making all happy. The way it works in iDrive 8/8.5 are completely fine.

Nah, it's not the iDrive people complain about, as a touchscreen works better than the knob.
People want buttons for basic functions. And people are right. EuroNCAP is going to detract safety points for NK interiors if it remains this minimalistic.

I´m one of them who hates all the touch, but a combination is ok. I´m fine with the way it works in my i4 M50 with MGU21/MGU22. I can adjust and control almost everything with the iDrive-controller when driving and using touch when stationary - the best of two worlds. Abandoning the iDrive-controller is a really bad move from BMW.

Can’t think about many interiors which have aged as good as the F01/F10 or G11/G30. This NK interior design does not look bad, but it’s hard for me to see how it improves what came before.

BMW really had a winning recipe.
Not forgetting how the E60 looks. Still a masterpiece!

Do you really think so?

For me it is a black spot in the history of the brand, that dashboard with a sign engraved "I am made of black plastic" a lot of black plastic, and of quite mediocre and rough quality, especially if you compare it with the E39.

*This is me talking as if I were an E60 😏

The Bangle Era 'Cockpit' interiors are still hands down my favorite of all time. Something about them was so unique & special.
I always miss the "driver orientation" thing about them, the rest are very avant-garde, of course.

Back on topic - BMW iX3 and related concept car.

I thought the lights came ready from some supplier like Hella or something like that

"When it comes to large quantities, additive manufacturing of plastics is already ahead of 3D printing with metals. BMW recently announced that the taillight components of the New Class will be produced using 3D printing."

@carscoops imagine the iX3 in production format.

Probably not that far off it.
After seeing the concept, if you look closely at the camouflaged ones it is exactly as it is, it is not far at all, rather very very close.
