My pride is not happy at all![]()
Pride has no role in such a decision. Not at all. It's business and business is not a kid's garden.
BMW and Daimler needs to cooperate to survive, and it's just more logical that they cooperate together because they have the same market and the same premium exigences.
i want to know exactly what tech they want to share, cause as i see it technically ( IE new ground braking safety and engine systems MB do alot better than BMW)
the thing bmw do better is handling dynamics and so on.. wich i dont see them sharing..
so to me it sounds like MB will be on the giving end of this deal
and i dont like that..
PS
ofcourse both will gain from it..but it should be equall gain...

Mr. Z confirmed he's in talks with BMW, right? What now, he's stupid? Have you ever consider him stupid for doing something? No! Why now? 'Cause it's about BMW, right?

I'm honestly disappointed by some of the comments here, really...
What bitch you're talking about? And why such attack on BMW immediately? I don't get it...Mr. Z confirmed he's in talks with BMW, right? What now, he's stupid? Have you ever consider him stupid for doing something? No! Why now? 'Cause it's about BMW, right?
Are you aware what's this all about? It's about business, making money and joining forces to resist the various laws, rules/regulations, etc. that countries and unions are bringing up and sharping more and more, every day, and at the same time you have to produce something that is 1st class and sells like crazy to cover the costs and earn money.
Not that those regulations just mess up things with engines, but they also badly influence on design apparently, and i'm sure noone of us likes it.
It's getting harder for every carmaker to adopt to these new rules and since they haven't try to join forces so far, why not giving it a try if they'll all benefit from it and decrease costs while respecting those regulations? Especially with hybrids and such s***.Sounds pretty smart if you ask me.
And i'm also sure MB would remain MB and BMW would remain BMW.

BMW engines are exactly ho-hum... they've been dominating the engine of the year award in tons of categories. so please
This is something that NEEDS to happen. While both companies are going strong now, this is the perfect time to collaborate.
ahh i just knew someone would missunderstand me..
im not saying that BMW suck in engines, hell they might even be better than MB
but as i understand it,they are talking about green tech..
so far from MB i have seen fuel cells, DiesOtto,Bluetec.. and probably some more that i cant think of..
lately all ive seen in green way from MB is that ugly hydrogen 7er they drive around all the time..
but maybe im not paying attention to BMW´s green efforts for the future..
