Both BMW and Honda are going to build the first new era sports cars, each replacing the old M1 and the old NSX. So I decided to make a pole on which you like better, even f these are only first prototypes, they won't be very different in production form.

BMW i8 Concept

2+2 Seater
220 PS FI 1.5l I3 Petrol Engine (rear axle)
170 PS Electric Engnie (front axle)
Total: 390 PS

Honda NSX Concept

2 Seater
300 PS NA 3.5l V6 Petrol Engine (rear axle)
100 PS Electric Engine (front axle)
Total: 400 PS

The Honda has a glorious superior V6!

But how much is it going to weigh? The i8 will be below 1500 kg EU

Well, this pole is approximate as nothing is definite yet, we just have an idea.

I hope it will be a glorious V6, because right now as it is in the concept car, 300 PS from a 3.5l V6 is far from that if to think about the truely glorious (but torqueless) engines of the old NSX and S2000.

The CR-Z Hybrid is quoted at 1245 kg (DIN), what it not heavy if you compare it to other cars in its class. I don't think weight will be a problem for either of them, as they are from the beginning being designed as hybrids.

1.5-litre, three-cylinder, hybrid? Is this all about space (given the fact it's a 2+2)? Mid-engined 2+2? That was the problem with the Ferrari 308 GT4 'Dino-II', since it had a huge flat-plane crank V8 at the back. I still prefer a proper 2-seater sports car with a hybrid N20 engine.

Sounds better to me*. That's why my vote was for the NSX. But the design of the i8 is years ahead. Let's hope Tom Cruise's car give us the same appeal as the Iron Man did with the R8. I'd quote the Bumblebee, but I hate both. The movie and the car.

The Bimmer will be too expensive and less attractive :)
NSX of course! BMW better stay to it's best - SAVs and diesels ;)
Ohh God you gotta hate this stupid brand :)

Now with M Performance we can justify the M-badge for SAVs, SACs, sports diesel saloons and other Loch Ness monsters. Oh, let's not forget the 'Progressive Activity Sedan' (yes, you can laugh) in the so-called 5er Gran Turismo.

My vote was for the NSX, of course! But I still love BMW M cars (the proper ones). The F10 M5 is not the best in its class (if we consider the millionaire's Panamera Turbo S) but is a remarkable achievement. And the baby 1er M Coupé, no less.

In the traditional brand I enjoy the F30 and the F10 M Sport. With this one we can exclude the F01/SWB 7er (they share the same platform now, don't they?). Oh, and the F12/Coupé 6er. Not the Gran Coupé... that is a sedan, for sure.

But this nickname is utterly ridiculous, I know! I created it for YouTube, IntenseDebate, Disqus... account. All related to cars. It was a terrible combination, lol. But I'm known by it... 'so shall it be'!

We share the same likes and maybe the same dislikes :t-cheers:

I like the body of the i8 a ton...
but I voted NSX because it is a shame that BMW M does not stick a proper V8 petrol engine into that chassis.

Even Alfa Romeo was able to make 1000 units altogether of the 8C with NA V8. (Yes they had Maserati just as Audi has Lamborghini and Mercdes had McLaren to support them.)

Well but the purpose of these supercars are to be "green". The very first rumors of the BMW Supercar were not 2+2 seater 1.5l I3 but 2 seater 3.0l I6. Looks like it became more green and less M, in fact not M at all.
