Thanks. That explains why the diesel sells even when the G63 seems like a no brainer if you consider the very high resale value.
Exactly. (y) Compared to other AMGs like the S63 you can’t drive with a quiet exhaust.

And there’s another annoying feature on the G63, cylinder deactivation, which produces Subaru noises.

Solution: Put the engine in sport mode, but keep the suspension and exhaust in comfort.
Otherwise you’re driving a G63 with a Subaru WRX Sound.

AMG SUV

I hope the tail lights will look more like the GLC than the CLA. I am not a big fan of the tail light design of the CLA with its thinner light strip.
I think the same thing, but could be much different. Still wears lots of camo around the taillights area.

The AMG SUV has great proportions and all but I wonder if it will be a sales success or not. These high performance electric SUV’s are just way too expensive and tend to be a niche product.
And not only that, MB as a brand has lost a lot of equity, can't see them selling well a product if it competes in price with Lambo and other super-SUV brands.

BMW has tried to move upmarket with the XM and has failed miserably. It would be wise for MB to take good note of that IMO.

AMG will have to bring something that has great visual presence and doesn't appear overly large like the XM or it will definitely fall flat next to the likes of the Cayenne, DBX, Purosangue and Urus. The interior mustn't be just another CLA screen wall with black plastic surrounding the air vents.

Mercedes has been successful at selling expensive cars. They sell 50,000 G-Class and 25,000 Maybachs a year. The XM was a joke. BMW isn't as bold as Mercedes in creating expensive cars. The M supercar has been awaited for years, but they haven't been able to deliver.
