The all black coloured grill and lower intake with red accents certainly lifts up the 128ti to be a much more interesting looking car. Nicest combo yet in my opinion.

Quads for the 1 series . I actually believe this is a major LCI like the X7 rather than a new model.

Updated M135i has quad exhausts and perhaps a new name - M140i

Our friends over at Motor1.com have reported on what appears to be a new BMW performance hatchback that was recently spied, presumably the updated M135i. This would make sense considering that the 1 Series is due a refresh not too far from now.

With the inevitable EV era they might as well get quads ….I really hope it will have the performance pedigree to warrant those 4 pipes. The current M135i is a dud and doesn’t come close to the (F20) M140i.

call me oldschool ... but 4 pipes should be still reserved for real Ms. Why watering it down? And why the heck for a weak 4 banger FAAR based vehicle!? Not even a M550i or M850i do have those insignias.

Most, if not all new M Performance cars will get quad pipes.

I’ll admit that when the previous Golf R and S3 I mocked them for having quad on a 2.0l but they backed it up by having good performance….those cars having 4 pipes is a non issue now.

I just hope this 1series will have the performance to back it up …the Golf R is the gold standard.
