1 Series BMW (F40) 1 Series Hatch - from Leaked to Official

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
I was in luck. The M135i is just here over the weekend. On monday it's going to a track, you pay money to drive various BMW's, called bmw track experience day.

I started by driving the 118i once again. Don't know why but the steering felt a little better on this car but still lacks feel. 135i felt better than 118i but I think it's thanks to the tyres, being 18" wheels and wider rubber. But it's nothing to brag about, still pretty numb feeling experience. I still can't over that M135i use Continental PremiumContact 6. This car deserve a sportier tyre.
Been some time since I drove the previous 1-series but if I recall correctly, the steering is better. But I leave that to Centurion. He owns the M140i so he should know something about it.

Handling is good though and traction is flawless. Standstill and throttle all the way to the floor, the car moves without any traction issues.
Its a fast car but the speed sensation isn't there. My car feels faster (but its not) but my car sounds more and feels sportier. 3-cylinder is a gem. The driving experience isn't on the same level.

From the inside, the engine in M135i doesn't sound much, its a more mature car I guess. But to me if I want a performance car it should feel like one too. Huyndai i130N is sportier and louder. Maybe Albert Biermann should go back to BMW!

No fan of automatic gearboxes in cars like these but thank good there are paddels on the steering wheel. The gearbox is smooth but I think this car would be more fun with a manual.

The design isn't bad and like I said before the package is aggressive.
Finally, its the money. The one I drove is close to M2 Comp. in price. I know where I would put my money.

My girlfriend favorite car today is the new 320d Touring. She likes the design, it's a larger car with more space and big luggage space. I agree with here. The new 3-series looks good. The design is spot on if you ask me. The steering isn't much better but to me the overall experience felt sportier than 118i. But I felt stupid to turn down or up the stereo with my finger. Call me old fashioned but what is wrong with a simple button!

A few photos.

BMW's i boss reveals plans for 12 electric cars by 2023, with an electric version of the 1 Series set to arrive within the next two years
BMW bosses have exclusively revealed to Auto Express that an entry-level, electric hatchback based on the 1 Series is in the product plan. And it could be here as early as 2021.

The German firm has outlined an electrification strategy under which 12 fully electric cars and 13 plug-in hybrids will arrive in showrooms in the next four years. BMW is targeting the more premium and more profitable segments initially; the first to arrive will be the iX3 SUV, followed by the i4 saloon and then BMW’s technological flagship, the iNEXT SUV.

It’s not a bad looking car in person, but it’s certainly the least attractive car in its class. The A class looks way better. The upcoming A3 will surely look the best.

I spotted one yesterday.

It looks shite in that black colour and plain rims. The wheels look really small and have alot of space between them and the wheel arches. If I was the owner I would put on a nice pair of 18inch or 19inch wheels to spice up the car a little.

Might be winter wheels and tyres. Not uncommon to see people care less about Winter rims.

In 4 weeks My winter wheels är coming on. Swedish laws.
