Really? Not at all?

I know an insurance company that will give you a permanent green card, but if the leasing company won't even allow you to travel abroad that will be a problem.

My A1, and the replacement for that, is mainly driven in the UK, so being RHD will not be an issue.

It was something I was told at a time that I honestly don't know if true but has stuck in my head.

Thanks guys for all the great information! Definitely opens up some options to get behind the wheel of some pretty impressive vehicles if you have the stable income and credit worthiness. (y)

@ACE, if you get the M5 when will it be due?

Ours is coming mid January, though I've yet to have a car supplied on time ever...
I was quoted "End of January".

Ace and Deck. Are you guys considering Competition Package for the M5?

No, 3 reasons
1. I don't want the hard ride of the 20s and stiffened suspension, on longer trips it becomes tiresome, especially off the major roads.
2. Any options are added straight to the lease price, e.g An M5 with £17k of options would cost as much as 2 base M5s for 2 years.
3. 15hp represents about 2.6% of the power of this car! you can hardly ever put 100% of the power to the road below 100kph. Of all the faults of the standard M5, a lack of power isn't one of them. There would be more value in some weight saving pack, imo.

Mine have ALWAYS been early.

All of my cars have been delivered earlier than promised too. @Deckhook your dealers must dislike you ;)

Will be interesting to see who's comes first then. ;)

That's my point, who in their right mind would pay an extra £6700 on a 2 year deal as is with you and 3 year deal with me.

This M5 is coming out of England and the dealer doesn't know me from Adam so who knows but it was originally meant to come prior to Christmas then changed till mid January so maybe I'm just an unlucky git. lol

Exactly. You could gain far more, and spend much less, by having a couple of days training at the M driver training school at the Nurburgring.

The benefit I've received most from all the driver training days I been on is the knowledge how to deal with difficult road conditions.

Decision time has arrived. The M5 I ordered is now in the UK and will be ready for delivery next week. So it looks like I will going with the F10 M5 and switching to an F80 M3 (or possibly the next C63 AMG) next year.

I now have an F80 M3 first build slot and a 6 month old 335i to get rid of!

I think the issue with your plan is when you have to make the transition from M5 to M3. Smaller space, less power, Eight cyl to just six, lower quality interior combined with you two years older. M5 is a more "mature" car than M3.

I say get an M3 now for 4 years and then lease the next gen M5.

And to whomever abusing the Dislike button, get a life. This thread asks for opinion and everyone can agree to disagree, no need to make everyknow know you disagree with someone, nobody cares man.

Ours is due at the dealers tomorrow to then get PDI-ed and all the documents sorted so I doubt we will have it in our hands before the middle of next week at the earliest.

BTW the RR Sport is still on for end of Febuary/start of March.

Typically, I don't like going for something during the first model year. I would wait a year or two before jumping into an F80/F82 so BMW irons out all the issues. :)

No, but a Porsche Macan Turbo is ok in it's first year of production?
Ok....

No problem. You just find a container to ship it, and I'll PM you my address and stuff. It's just the north sea, and I'll magane with the RHD part ;)

Thanks!

The Macan isn't a new product in the true sense on the word, it's a proven engine as is the gearbox, AWD system and platform. I'm not saying the M3 will have any problems but I think your comparison has it's flaws.
