Basically,
24 months in an M5 with 8000 miles pa costs less than £500 per month (under £600 including all taxes) if you pay 6 instalments up front then another 23 months. Over 2 years it will cost less than £17000 to own an M5.
The M3 costs £56k base, to bring it up to M5 base spec will cost around £65k. That includes DCT, HUD, EDC, 19s, premium sound, adaptive lights, heated seats etc. There are no lease deals and no discount on new M3s. You will be lucky to get £30k out of that M3 after 4 years, i.e £35k depreciation ignoring the cost of finance.
