@martinbo @Betty Swollocks The lease deals are visible on this website

Basically,
24 months in an M5 with 8000 miles pa costs less than £500 per month (under £600 including all taxes) if you pay 6 instalments up front then another 23 months. Over 2 years it will cost less than £17000 to own an M5.

The M3 costs £56k base, to bring it up to M5 base spec will cost around £65k. That includes DCT, HUD, EDC, 19s, premium sound, adaptive lights, heated seats etc. There are no lease deals and no discount on new M3s. You will be lucky to get £30k out of that M3 after 4 years, i.e £35k depreciation ignoring the cost of finance.

Thanks

So I assume with a lease the deposit is six months payments?
Or 3 or 9 or 12 up front, it doesn't change the total amount payable, so you may as well pay 3 up front to minimise the present value of the finance deal, assuming they like your credit enough to agree to only 3!

I see. Thanks. So I guess a lease deal makes sense over a hire purchase if you already know you're going to hand the car back at the end of the term?

To me it was a no brainier to contract hire the M5, you would struggle to get much more than £30k for a 3 year old M5 and even with discount the car will stand you more than £60k. Plus you aren't out all the money to begin with like you would if you bought out right.

@ACE, if you get the M5 when will it be due?

Ours is coming mid January, though I've yet to have a car supplied on time ever...

That would be neither... I would need to own a Laferrari for that!

No I said an erection, not an orgasm :ROFLMAO:

As for outright speed, maybe 0-100 M3 might be faster, but any other measure, 0-160, 0-200, or ANY rolling speed the M5 will be leagues ahead of the M3. Again, depends on how you use the car. For highway blasting the M5 is the way to go.

Mine have ALWAYS been early.

You are one lucky chap then, no matter the model or make it's always run late and in the case of the first S4 I owned 8 weeks late, even the wife's X1 arrives 3 weeks later but at least the delay meant she got servotronic as standard.

I'd say away from the track the M5 will also make a strong/er case for itself but with the current rates being offered on it be that leasing, contract hire or discount the M5 is probably where the smart money is at.

Ace and Deck. Are you guys considering Competition Package for the M5?

At the time I dealt the Comp pack wasn't on offer but even if it were the rates would have made it not worth it, when you contract hire items from the option list are added in full to your contract monthly payments so in the case of the Comp pack that would mean an extra £176.31 per month (£176.31 x 38 = £6700).

I'm really interested in these leasing deals. For what I would be paying to hire purchase an M135i in Holland (my plan to replace my A1 next year), I could get a UK M5 on lease for two years.

I'm not sure you can take a leased/contract hire car out of the country though.

Really? Not at all?

I know an insurance company that will give you a permanent green card, but if the leasing company won't even allow you to travel abroad that will be a problem.

My A1, and the replacement for that, is mainly driven in the UK, so being RHD will not be an issue.
