X3/X4 BMW considering X4

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.
...

X4 will enter the market with four and six cylinder engines in petrol and diesel formats , A Hybrid will also be offered. X4 will also get the latest version of BMW's Dynamic Performance Control stability programme.

Do you talk about the version which is installed in the X6 or the "low-budget"-version which is available for X1 and X3?
Regards

Andreas

Assuming that SCOTT wouldn't mix up these terms, 'Dynamic' suggests it's the real deal as found in the X6.

Because X4 will be a little brother to the X6 it will share the same ideals to seperate the X3 and the X4. Just as the X6 is different than the X5.

Then why do you undermine this by revealing on here that there WILL be an X4?

Something I have noticed in terms of print media v's online media.
is that in print there is less debate than there is via online.
Journalists are more open to the current debate trends rather than the colulm or page in print.
Also print media what you get per week or month is already old news because of the major focus on line.
On-line presents debate as it happens , print means the news is already out of date by the time the magazine hits the shelfs.
Also online there is a greater emphasis on specific brand either via forum or online magazine - ie BimmerToday, BMW Blog, BimmerFile , BiggBlogg , Motoring File and of course GCF. So there is more indepth debate rather than re-hashing the entire press release.

Being on-line means you reach a higher audience and it encourages debate and it can also present focus on future strategies for example improvements to models or suggest ideas for product strategies.

In other words we are just a medium for HYPE and nothing more.

BMW has cancelled the X4. You will know this because even years from now there will not be an X4 whereas this thread would still exist. Just like the threads about new Z8. Or Z2. Or new Z3. Or X2.

No it is not about hype. I like to hear debate about product planning amongst the real world.
Z8 , Z2 are very much in the game plan the only problem is that as disclosed previously they are 2013 , 2014 cars respectively.
The Z2 is in engineering development, whereas the Z8 or Z Spyder Stradale is still in the early stages of the design competition.

X4 is very much active - BMW X3 to spawn sporty X4 - Autocar.co.uk
Again it is a 2014 car.

And what about your avatar?.

And BMWBLOG will have a huge surprise to share next week...

If the Z8 is for 2013, design competiton should end in May/June 2011, and we would be seeing the first spy pics in late 2011, right?.

No Z8 in 2013. Not two major high end sports cars in one year, no way...

2013 will be, according to the latest Autobild, the year of the Vision Efficient Dynamics. Audobild says the decision has been made and the car will be build in the Leipzig plant and be on sale early 2013. They give this render:

Larson Autobild render.

Based on BMW's current SUV-building agenda, that Vision concept car remains just that, a vision, until I some hard physical evidence of its existence.

Twenty new models until 2015. It is true there will be cross-overs to satisfy market demand, but there will also be 4 new Coupe's , Roadsters and other exciting projects.

To compete with the 2014 Geländecoupé?
So it is finally going to happen or have they shrunk the concept for the Premium Entry segment?

You can't honestly think BMW only thinks about SUVs. That's just silly, but I'm sure it was just sarcasm?
Other than this possible X4, BMW's SUV line up is up to date, extremely modern and all around perfect. X1 M pack here and possible X3 M there, I see no need to focus on the SUV line up at all...
