BMW considering a 2nd facelift for their cars

I don't think so, because very few people that have a car in leasing buy it at the end of the leasing, they give it back and then lease another one.

It allows you to have always the latest models, no to worry about servicing or changing pieces, not to worry about saling your car when you want another... Everything is included in the price you pay every month.

But of course, it is more expensive than a buy.

And for the carmaker: they sell the car at a higher price, and are sure that they will sell another 2 years after, so it is very good...

Is it sure that BMW will apply the double-facelift strategy? I know that some Japanese carmakers do that, the Koreans too, but not Toyota I think, neither than the French.

I think that if BMW do that, the others will may have to follow...If it works like BMW wants to, of course...

Too bad...

Usually when a high official says "we are seriously considering something" that actually means they will do it sooner or later.

The questions remains at what extent. Will all the model line be affected by this policy, or only the particular models? And also important: have radical the revamping will be.

Perhaps we are dramatizing & panic a bit too much. :t-cheers:

Premium segment is different. Consumer behavior is different in that segment. Many customers find a car as an accessory , or "mobile communication statement". Symbolizing owner's status, attitude, views etc.

Also in premium segments customers are more novelty conscious - tend to get the latest tech & design. Following trends & fashion. They are the early adopters ... trend-makers. Such people are very important for the industry.

In England we have very different thoughts about the people you have just described. We would say that they are the people who cant really afford to own such a car and are trying to live a image that their pockets cant really afford. They are most likely to have a nice car on the drive but live in a place that is not so nice, and most likely are in debt or keep remortgaging their house :eusa_pray
