I don't think so, because very few people that have a car in leasing buy it at the end of the leasing, they give it back and then lease another one.
It allows you to have always the latest models, no to worry about servicing or changing pieces, not to worry about saling your car when you want another... Everything is included in the price you pay every month.
But of course, it is more expensive than a buy.
And for the carmaker: they sell the car at a higher price, and are sure that they will sell another 2 years after, so it is very good...
Is it sure that BMW will apply the double-facelift strategy? I know that some Japanese carmakers do that, the Koreans too, but not Toyota I think, neither than the French.
I think that if BMW do that, the others will may have to follow...If it works like BMW wants to, of course...
