Concept BMW Concept Skytop

Future car concepts, design studies, upcoming tech, and what may come next
If you squint it looks like an Australian “ute” pick up.
It’ll be popular in OZ then. 😆

Nah - does nothing for me. I can see the appeal for some but it's no beverage of my choice.

I don't think photos like these do it justice. I'm not a big fan of how they resolve the roof and the pillar on the car, but it does look a lot better in the metal. Certainly longer and wider than these particular photos suggest.

I hate this 'colour' though. It really needs a deep red or blue in my humble opinion.

BTW, speaking of special editions of the 8er, I would’ve loved to see an Alpina B8 as a simple Coupé or Convertible.
2 colors Alpina Green or Alpina Blue with silver or gold stripes, beige or black interior and multispoke wheels.
As a last hurrah for the brand.

I don’t like the current lineup ( no 2 door Coupé or convertibles).

I mean the Alpina lineup, sorry If it was a bit misunderstanding.

How does the roof the skytop operate?

It's ugly in those shots.

M

"Awkward" rather than outright "ugly" IMHO.

But whatever, the Skytop represents more a swansong rather than a precursor. A wave "Bye, Bye" to a soon outgoing BMW design paradigm. It is the soon to be presented NKL vehicles that will give us a very clear indication of where BMW is going. I'm pretty excited about that as well.
