But I think the shape of the front, specially kidneys and frontlights are gonna look way better than on the F20 1er.

There's a lot going on at BMW these days but no project is bound to be more divisive than the firm's first front-wheel drive model, the upcoming 1-Series Grand Turismo, which was previously known by the acronym F.A.S.T., which stands for Family Activity Sports Tourer.

Citing inside sources, the crew over at the BMW Blog reported that the 1-Series GT would make its world premiere at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show this fall.

This mule doesn't yet have production headlights so it is too early to say.

LOL, was that joke of a thing really called "FAST", in which the abbreviation meant what is the ANTITHESIS to the word "fast"?

BMW Marketing, wowowow. :D

Make whatever you want - Family activity tourer (FAT), Activity Sports Sedan (ASS), but can you guys please stop butchering the 'GT' moniker. It freaking means something and this is not it.

The only one of the 'GT' family which will actually be a sales success. :D And thanks will probably be use to its fwd chassis which is what people want in this type of vehicle.

So unusual for a BMW to have such a long front overhang. However I find it funny, Audi came out with the A2, and it was a huge fail. Then Mercedes came with the A Class and it was a success. Now BMW is coming with a 1 Series GT, MPV and FWD, and it will be a huge success, well only in EU. I think there might even be AWD versions., as there is the Mini Countryman All4. I also think this 1 Series GT will have a better looking front than the 1 Series Hatch. If yes, there is hope the 2 Series will be the best looking of the bunch.

Best way to go about it really. Just like how the A3 and Golf ar the same FWD breed.

Will preview the production model

According to a recent report, BMW will introduce a 1-Series GT concept at the Paris Motor Show.
Designed to preview the production model, the concept will be an MPV in the same vein as the Mercedes B-Class. It will ride on the UKL front-wheel drive platform that will also underpin the next-generation MINI Cooper.
Engine options remain a mystery, but Autocar says the model will be offered with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine. Nothing is official, but previous reports have indicated it could produce approximately 150 PS (110 kW / 148 hp).

BMW GT - Gran Turdismo - for Bimmers that are more than a little bit shit. I'm sorry but with all due respect to the P&L, shareholders and dividends - this is one BMW that I don't wish to see the light of day. Is nothing sacred anymore?
