BMW Clever Concept

BMW will announce its C.L.E.V.E.R soon. Concept, one small three wheels to lowest polluting emissions fed to natural gas (CLEVER is for Compact Low Emission VEhicle for URban Transport).
The Clever has been financed from the European Union and could be the substitute of the small scooter C1. The concept is interesting: most compact, two places, consume and pollute little. To see if the mechanical complexity from there will raise too much the costs: it is a mixed car-motion, with the nside that can tilt regarding the group wheels-posteriori/motore, in order to make up for to the serious problems of the dynamic ones of the vehicles to three wheels.
The motor is one 230 cc BMW (modified) with 17 cavalli/15.5 Nm, the estimated medium consumption is the equivalent of 2,4 liters/100 km, while the emissions of CO2 are of 59,5 g/km. Autonomy of 150 km.

I saw an article on this on the news today - it was devised at Bath Univerity in the UK.

Thing is - hasn't the tilting body been done before? I'm sure some obscure Dutch maker did one - the expensive car with Alfa 156 door handles...

I dunno but the Carver appeared on Top Gear a few seasons ago.

This one looks a lot better then the Carver but I think I'd rather opt for a Motorcycle if i'm to get turned like that...more fun on a bike...The other thing, I would also rather take the Ariel Atom.

I think its very impressive... huge brakes. Nice deliverance. This is way more secure than a bike especially in handling. Seems like a great toy!!! How do the brakes work without flipping over, it would be amazing ENDO.

But as safe as this might be, I'd still take a bike. And no, obviously I won't be dragging knee on normal public roads but that's why they have trackdays...loads of fun, moreso then anything else, ever!

Looks interesting, I'm quite suprised they didn't extend the flame design philosiphy to this project, would have been quite interesting and quite cool. I think this is just the begininning for a tricycle project from BMW and the automotive industry in general, look at VW's concept launched in L.A. at the begininning of the year(the name isn't coming to me right now). Though in it's infancy I'd be looking to more wild ideas for everday transport such as these to gain more attention and ground, and eventually make their way into the showroom. When the time is right, of course. I think I'd get quite notious afterwhile to be honest w/ all the sideways, back and forth motion.
