BMW ALPINA B5 BITURBO

PERFORMANCE, ELEGANTLY STYLED
ALPINA automobiles are defined by their finely balanced mix of driving dynamics, comfort and everyday luxury. Add to that exceptional functionality and the result is the BMW ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo.

In Touring form, the B5 Bi-Turbo smartly combines the exclusive sophistication of the Saloon with pronounced functionality and versatility. Make no mistake, the Touring offers up to 1670 litres of storage space and an ingenious luggage compartment concept, despite its luxury high performance genes.

A finely honed suspension and chassis configuration combined with variable dampers makes for an exemplary ride comfort while simultaneously providing sharp handling and excellent high-speed stability.

The V8 Bi-Turbo accelerates the Saloon from 0-62mph in 4.5s while 730Nm of torque paired with the exceptional 8-speed Sport Automatic Transmission with SWITCH-TRONIC means power is always readily available. Modern, dynamic and well toned in appearance – the B5 Bi-Turbo has all the right visual qualities to make it the perfect companion for business and leisure.

It is gorgeus indeed, and will be a very close rival to its "brother" M5 - especially on the Autobahn (319 km/h vs. 305 kph) :D

Official 0-200 kph times by Alpina:
12,9 s - B5 Saloon
13,7 s - B5 Touring

According to their own data the new sedan is 2.1 seconds quicker to 200 kph than the 507-hp-version. Also the topspeed is much higher: 319 km/h instead of 307. :usa7uh:

^^^ Awesome. That updated car seem to be a potential threat to the cousin, M5. I'd love to see them both in action.

German AMS will compare them in their next issue. B5 is only quicker in-gears and it has a higher topspeed, but M5 accelerates better and corners much better.

We can see the difference in the latest comparison of AutoBild Sportscars: while the E63 AMG T-model with Performance Package is only 0.4 sec slower around the Sachsenring than the E63 Saloon, the B5 Touring is much slower than all of its rivals.

Ahead of Frankfurt, ALPINA shows off the LCI versions of the B5 BiTurbo and D5 BiTurbo in it's very own car configurator: http://www.alpina-configurator.de/

Alpina has revealed the 2016 B5 Bi-Turbo in sedan and station wagon variants.

Earlier this year Alpina launched two special models celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary and now it is presenting the 2016 MY of the B5 Bi-Turbo. The model gets a revised 4.4-liter V8 biturbo engine that now generates 600 HP (441 kW) and 800 Nm (591 lb-ft) of torque. Actually, this is the same unit the producer introduced with the Edition 50 models.

The updated B5 Bi-Turbo now accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 328 km/h. The combined fuel consumption remains unchanged, standing at 9.5 liter per 100 km with 221 g/km of CO2 emissions.

The car has also been equipped with a sports suspension that now offers electronically adjustable dampers and active roll stabilization. Standard equipment includes a limited slip differential, Merino leather upholstery for the seats, and piano black interior trim. Optionally customers can purchase a lightweight titanium exhaust system by Akrapovic that is 17 kg lighter than the standard system, and a high-performance fixed-calliper brake system.

Prices for the 2016 B5 Bi-Turbo start at €108,600 for the sedan and €111,900 for the Touring.
