Expect BMW to offer some innovations with windshield wipers. :D

@SCOTT27
Will bmw have any new premiere at shanghai autoshow !!!

Yes there is going to be something entirely different, something that has not done before. There is going to be a copy of a Chinese domestic model but add BMW design elements to it. A Sort of reverse psychology.:p

The new BMW 5er Li which will launch to the market with 530eL model.
There is a BMW M night on the eve of the show again.

So there is no new concept !!because bmw used to have new concepts at shanghai autoshow in the past!!

Where does Scott say there won't be a concept?

Answer: He doesn't. In fact, all he does is tell you something that is widely known already. The reality is he doesn't know whether there is a concept or not.

I would love it were BMW to present an automobile, whether it be a "production viable" concept or an actual production car, that is genuinely stunning. The VFL Concept sedan was splendid. Especially its' interior. Alas, little if anything has been visually translated into a production automobile. Will we see some of the VFLs' elements transplanted onto the upcoming 8 series ? In a truly compelling manner that transcends mere vague nuances ? I hope so.

As far as production models go, it hasn't been since the current 4 series (especially the coupes) that I have been left utterly impressed. The G30 5 series is a highly photogenic automobile. In the metal, it is handsome. Nothing more. Nothing less. Of course, the technical credentials are arguably without reproach. As a former fan of the brand, as well as former owner of a good number of its' products, I never thought that I would be at odds with myself in determining whether I prefer the 5 series versus an E-Class Mercedes-Benz. The 5er would have always gotten my nod. From the E12 onwards actually. Or maybe the current Audi A6. But NOW, the W213 can be so goddamn compelling.

I think there are chances to see elements of the VFL interior in the next generations of some BMW models.
This are postings from the G05 X5 thread:

Recently, I saw some interior clay models and sketches that I assume were related to the X5. Based on these, it will have no free-standing screen anymore.

Does anybody know more?

It looked like a toned-down version of the VFL. Everything a little more upright, higher, and by that less sporty.
Since the Mercedes solution is not appreciated a lot in Munich, I don't think it will ever be implemented that way. Instead the Bavarians (Audi als well) might go for flowing 3-dimensional touch surfaces on both sides of the steering wheel ...

Take it with a pinch of salt: I'm not involved in the project so everything I report is bystander knowledge. The clay I saw had conventional kidneys with rather thick bars, similar to the Gran Lusso, but bigger. Headlights connected at the top, I guess ... but since the model was pretty raw I'm not sure about this.
The interior box contained elements of recent show cars (VFL, i8 spyder, connected drive ...). Here, I cannot go into the details as too much openness might weaken my own business... sorry. But it's got to do with surfaces and is beyond the discussion of who has got the biggest.... screen.

So, BMW will unveil a BMW branded Jinbei H2L... thanks to the joint venture with Brilliance Automotive...

to be built in Egypt by BMW's Egyptian subsidiary Bavarian Auto Manufacturing, who already actually make Jinbei vehicles.

Did I guess right @SCOTT27 ?

... because seriously, if the M4CS turns out to be an options box exercise I would be more interested in the Jinbei!
