This is, somehow, a weird image. One of the cars' appearing to be on the threshold of visual obsolescence-while the other, albeit very polarizing, looks "modern" and more prespared for the future.

Agree, iX platform would be perfect for a car in the vein of the 6 GT. Probably would sell better than the current one as well.

Because most probably this platform is not profitable. I suppose they will lose money on each iX sold and adding another sedan model only would increase this lost. I see this as a prestige project with a calculated lost inside.

The abbreviation stands for "Cluster Architecture", a base that covers a wide range of models from series 3 to 7 and will be renewed in 2025. CLAR becomes lighter and more variable. Although electric propulsion has the highest priority, BMW developers are planning supposed leadership in its architecture.

In fact BMW used the hydrogen as a fuel and not for fuel cells. Only now, when they have an access to Toyota's fuel cell technology they are prepairing a X5 for a searial production with Toyota's cells but packed by BMW and all the elecrric parts (motor, battery pack (again not cells),inverter) are developed by BMW.
