Hey guys and @klier

Yes.....this has happened.

The car has entered production this week, and the delivery should be around middle of May.

Thankfully BMW still give customers the freedom to spec the car from a wide range of colours and trim combinations.

Countless hours were spent on the configurator, exploring individual exterior color options including various shade of blue, purple, green, to match with the interior in Silverstone, Ivory or Fiona Red.

This is the final production specification, in Skyscraper Grey, black 826m wheels, full Fiona Red Interior and carbon fiber interior trim.

It will be a fun and exciting learning experience, and it will be strange to drive a car from "the dark side"

Fantastic news. Congratulations Derek!

If you have the means, an M3 Touring isn’t just a no-brainer - it’s a must have. Great decision because there’s just nothing else like it.
Love the spec too - Skyscraper Grey is my favourite BMW colour. I wish you a happy purchase and ownership experience.

It won’t be strange. It will be good. This is the way.

And just like that, every staff member at GCF will be a BMW owner.

Congratulations!!! I look forward to many many km's around Sydney in this beautiful car mate.

Crazy how diehards like you and I have literally been 'forced' into other brands by Mercedes.

As it stands, the M3 Touring can't be beat.

Congratulations, Monster!! Great choice. It's the spec I would go with too. Looking forward to seeing the photos when you take delivery.

Well, well, well, look who's come from the other side... :D

The M3 touring is THE BMW to have these days. I really hope you actually use it and enjoy it. Actually I'm fairly sure you'll use it and enjoy it. I get it with the Merc's. They are boring AF.

And just like that, every staff member at GCF will be a BMW owner.
It took us quite a while, but we got there.

Congratulations, even as a Mercedes Benz fanboy I must admit there’s nothing comparable in the Mercedes Benz lineup.

The color combination looks good although I’d prefer San Marino blue or portimao blue.

Gosh I am so happy for you @Monster my man! Many congrats, and keep it safe.
M3 Touring probably is the best allround BMW I have ever driven. The complete package. Sick color combo too my friend! Keep us posted.

Only thing I don't like in this spec are the black rims, but that's completely personal. The rims stand out much more in simple aluminium

Thank you Martin ! The M3, especially the Touring version is unique on the market, and it will remain so in the next 5 years or longer.

I wanted a car/wagon with
  1. Pure ICE drivetrain, 6 cylinders minimal
  2. Traditional SOLID German built quality. for the exterior AND interior of the car.
  3. Genuine leather interior (Thank you Mercedes Australia for removing this option for non AMG models)
  4. Balance of current in car technology with actual buttons for essential functions, and minimal number of screens.
  5. Well tuned and more comfortable ride quality than my C-class estate.
The M3 is the only car that meet all of the requirements above. It is the last of it's kind, and the last of the traditonal German ICE cars as we know it.

I must say I am looking forward to becoming part of the GCF BMW Staff member group !

Thank you my friend, looking forward to driving you around when you visit next !

Also 100% agree, I wouldn't have step foot inside a BMW dealership in the last 15 years, or advise my friends to purchase a BMW. However Mercedes, and ESPECIALLY Mercedes Australia did everything possible to push diehards like us into other brands.

For those who are not aware, over the past 8 years, BMW Australia has forced the dealership network to invest in upgrading or building new show rooms, improving dealership training and staff presentation, and modernise the brand image without chasing cheap and temporary trends.

You are also correct, there is nothing on the market that can beat the vast range of capabilities of the M3 Touring.

Hey Betty, thank you ! I will definitely take plenty of photos on delivery day.

Thank you Klier ! Will keep the forum posted once the car lands.

My mind went back and forth multiple times with the wheel selection, between the two different style (825 or 826) and three different finishes.

In the end I settled with the black wheels to give a bit more contrast against the red calipers.

Having said so, I may change the wheels after the first year of ownership.

lol....yes indeed, never say never. Hopefully I will have more opporunties to drive the car. The two E classes will stay when I need to drive something more spacious and comfortable, something to survive the crator size potholes on the road.

Thank you ! Mercedes have vacated this segment entirely, the C43/63 is non existant, and Mercedes Australia stopped importing ANY estates to the Australian market since the launch of the W206.

Both San Marino Blue and Portimao blue was top 5 my list. I once saw a F80 M3 CS in San Marino Blue on the road, the blue was very intense and captures your attention immediately. In the end I didn't select the blue because I thought these colours will look better on the sportier sedan or coupe shape.
