I think this is a different article coming to the same conclusions, but I could be wrong. Disagree with the 7 being the nicest looking car out of these three, it's the Benz. The 7 looks more sporty, serious.

Well at least they used the same cars and used the same shots...

edit;
Ah, there we go. Thanks bmer

i never liked Porsche to be honest, my vote goes for the s63 for sure!
and then the 7er.....so posing! love it.

God Bless MB for making cars like this:)

Man you guys really love this guy's review. I definitely enjoyed it myself. :usa7uh:

Sorry for bumping this thread, but is it possible for journalists to get their facts right?

At 2:12 of the video, Jason says: "BMW started all this insanity with putting a V12 in a 7-Series about twenty years ago".

Mercedes-Benz started all this "insanity" with the 300 SEL 6.3 in 1968 and BMW put a V12 engine in the 7-Series in 1987; do the maths: 2010 - 1987= TWENTY-THREE years ago.

Am I a perfectionist? Or is it really much to ask journalists to get their facts right?

I'm not very familiar with vintage models but didn't the 300 SEL 6.3 have a V8? :t-hands: Regarding the 750i here's what the often unreliable wikipedia has about it:
...1987 folgte das Modell 750i mit dem ersten deutschen Zwölfzylindermotor der Nachkriegszeit und einer Leistung von 220 kW.

Which I think would translate in the lines of: "In 1987 the 750i-model was introduced with the first post-war German twelve-cylinder engine and an output of 220 kW".

EDIT: Sorry, just realised I misunderstood your point. You meant "insanity" as in putting large powerful engines in sedan models, not V12s in particular.

Same here. Kowalski's sentence was not easy for people who don't have English as their native language. He said it perfectly right, but I still misunderstood (and was about to post something similar as you did :laugh2: )

Panamera S for me. According to AutoBild Sportscars: "The Panamera S is the sportiest Panamera - not the Turbo."

Well 'sporty' is all relative for a 2 tonnes beast, so I would definitely go with the fastest option, the Turbo :D Or just buy a true sportscar, like a 911 Carrera S PDK :icondrool

hahahaha ..... I like it when those journalists does not know what the hell they are talking about, OK the panamera is ugly, we know it, but the funny part when he talks about sound insulation of the Panamera, here I know he was talking out of his ***. The car has double glazzed windows, the car has perfect insulation and as I remember correctly, it scored better number than both S class and 7 series.
The Panny is far from ugly! I visited Porsche Centre JHB on my visit to the BBC Top Gear show @ Coca-Cola dome JHB...Man it's good looking, in your face an handsome!:usa7uh:
Though I am with Klier.....The F01 7er is the best looking of the trio :t-cheers:
