BMW 7-Series G11/12 and its Competitors


Its going to be really interesting to see how the new 740i compares to the Cadillac CT6 in the weight savings and overall performance catagories.

I think the Caddy will hold the edge as the drivers car.
Cadillac also claims a weight of 3700lbs (1678kg) which is an incredible feat for a chassis
that uses no CF. That might be for the turbo 4-banger though. The Turbo 6 will weight more but I don`t think it will eclipse the new 7er.
 
I fail to see how a Cadillac can be any close to a bimmer in anything.
 
While many may scream "bias" since Car and Driver is a US publication, I remember they heaped quite a bit of adulation for the CTS' driving dynamics compared to comparable 5er and A6. A big reason for such praise was CTS' lighter weight contributed to a more nimble ride. And usually C&D has a massive hard-on for BMWs and, more recently, Audis.
 
That Phaeton interior, gosh, looks like something from the 90's.

Like a 1998 Passat. No wonder nobody wants one anymore. The exterior is still ok in my book, a bit bland perhaps, but that interior is just a big red nono.

I fail to see how a Cadillac can be any close to a bimmer in anything.

Not in a million years it will be.
