Update

The same carmag (Teknikens Värld) was invited to BMW Munchen to test drive exactly the same 523i and several other 5-series. First there is one thing this carmag didnt tell us was that the DSC was completly turned off but the Carmag "forgot" to say it so there where no problems with the run-flat tires either. Anyway, a guy from BMW drove the car and members from this carmag was allowed to get a ride in it. So the car was tested again and like before, fully loaded. This time they got the speed 72,73km/h which is one of the highest speeds ever tested in this class, when Teknikens Varld drove the car the first time they reached a speed of 68.5 km/h. After they guy from BMW drove the car, he asked if Teknikens Varld wanted to try again but they declined.

This carmag has tested several 5-series before and so has several other carmags done but there havent been a problem before. Its obvious this carmag just wanted the attention. So to all 5-serie drivers, the car isnt dangerous so enjoy your ride :usa7uh:

thanks god, what a relief :D

anyway, i still want to see that DAMN video :t-hands:

belive it or not but the carmag still deny it.

this is what I would do if i was in their position :D
i 'd say that they are wrong, they cheated and they tricked that car so that it will be more stable than before

BTW, it's unbelievable that they didn't mention that the DSC was off. That's DSC's job, keeping the car stable, keeping it on the road. That's why it's there :t-crazy2:

Lucky for BMW this story wasn't beamed all over the world on television.

Stupid magazine. BMW shoudl sue them. :D

Well that's a relief. I'm sure those guys felt like crap when they were driving with the BMW test drivers. If they had any sort of respect, they would publish another article saying they are horrible and that people shouldn't buy their mags ;)

So the DSC waw turned off. Then why the hell did they have to come through pulling of a controvercy like that. Man, that's so freaking unneccessary. :t-wild: :bash: :evil_pump

THis is what they wrote:
The problem is evident across the board in the 5-series, but worst in the versions with the smallest variants: The electronic stability control doesn't kick in fast enough, and doesn't do enough to allow the driver to keep control of the car, which means that the ESP system may not be doing its job. The result is that the car is liable to spin, which could cause accidents.

Maybe because you turned it off? I don't even know how they can even back out of this because when the car starts, the DSC is activated. You have to manually deactivated and even then there's a light that shows that it's off.

That video is priceless... the guy had NOTHING to say. BMW 1 Magazine 0.
BMW really went all out to prove that they were wrong. :t-crazy2:

Its not over yet. Next issue this same carmag will present us more tested 5-series with the same problem.

So when the DSC is on 5 series has no problem passing the test. That's good to hear. :D
