5 Series BMW 5-series failed the 'elk test'!

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured by BMW since 1972.
The movie works fine for me. Nothing new really. They just confirm the fact that the DSC should be reprogrammed.

Its what they think and not a fact that DSc is to blame.
BMW Germany now has the car to do further tests

Yeah sorry about that. I think it was on aftonbladet.se that I read that on car that offer pleasure to drive the DSC allows some "skidding". Perhaps BMW has stretched a bit too much on that skid limit? I'm looking forward to the official results.

Oh btw, would it cost extra to equip a 5er with regular tires since they have to change the original concept or would it even be cheaper? Also, does it come with a spare tire? I haven't looked under the trunk myself so I was hoping that someone here could tell me. I mean, did they put on the run flats so sthat they could remove the spare tire?

No spare if the car has run-flats. One of the "advantages" with Run-flats.

I have serious doubts about this test.
First, this car has been on the market for a long time. It seems strange that a problem like this has been unnoticed for the past couple of years.
Next, they test it with people in it. Normally they don't do that. It doesn't appear to be an official elk test.
Than the fact that they're filming it makes it look like a set up, just to get the car. Like they were expecting something to happen.
And the fact that the car does worse in the last test, I decide they must have turned something of.

So in conclusion: this is a load of BS.

Well, maybe it was because they said this time is when the car is fully loaded or something. Maybe in the past it was all when there was driver only.

That's because in the last test tey turned off the DSC so that they could compare with how it handled when activated. :)

well, than why are we even discussing this.
It's the same as turnig the ESP of on a Mercedes. Djeezes, that's why it's on the car. :t-banghea

When you turn the DSC off on a BMW, its really off right? :t-hands: On a Mercedes it simply raises the threshold but still intervenes in the end.

But I don't believe the best handling car in its class would fail the test. Somethings very wrong with that particular car or the test was somehow flawed.

I think the same. No matter wich car mag from wich country, wich driver or wich conditions. Something was definitely wrong.

:t-cheers:
