I think you are not wright on this klier. What I think SCOTT tries to tell us is the general shape of the 3er GT, wich should have more in common with the original idea of the RFK, showed on those ugly PSs than with the current 5er GT.

Just shape and conception, not design cues or ugly design.

Yeah, the general shape of the 3 GT will be like the 5 GT but smaller and sportier....but is that really news?!? It's pretty much a given imo.
But those shots from Scott are from a dismissed 5er GT design proposal, that's all I'm saying.

Again, "taking it's direction from"...., direct quote from SCOTT27.

Not a good direction. Actually quite scary.

No no, I´m not saying the 3er GT is gonna be a smaller 5er Gt, but a smaller RFK, not a hatchback 3er like the 5er GT, that is somehow the hatchback version of the 5er. I think the 3er GT is gonna be a sportier version of the 3er Touring.

Agree, that's what it looks like it will be, but why? Is there really room in between the sedan and the touring models for a GT in the 3er class?

Oh I know you fools are baiting me, but I'll bite. Once.

Rik and Klier...

Alright...let me rip your shit up.

When you fanboys troll other threads, you don't think you're helping CM? After all those years of being fans of NA engines and hating on AMG for being FI...and then you guys do 180 cuz CM "said so" isn't blindly following? Then what is?

If you're gonna call me out then find me a post where I've hated on posts by CM when they were giving info and not just some made up marketing jargon.

I've always stated that that having Scott and Eni on here is great for the community, but when you fanboys get in the mix and become cheerleaders, it becomes quite annoying and that's why all those arguments happen. I'm not just calling you guys out, I'm calling out the Benz fanboys too who have nothing better to do either. The real saddest part is that you guys can't see the whole picture and are stuck with your trivial ass bickering over "boo hoo, he called me a fanboy". What prooves my point even more is that I didn't even call you two out, all I said is Fanboys will blindly follow, and I meant that in General, because CM isn't just on this forum but on others as well. The fact that you two responded to my post just shows exactly what you two are.

You two basically gave away a 100% fact that you're both fanboys, thus you responded to a general post because you thought it was about you.

Thanks for playing, but try again.

I'm out this bitch. Peace.

Wow, relax dude. An overly aggressive 'tone' kills the point of every message. ;)

Best regards,

NarutoRamen, I don't know what you're talking about, but I don't troll other threads. I am making fun sometimes in Internal Combustion, but that's the whole point of that forum as far as I am concerned. A fanboy doesn't have to troll other threads, you know? Also, hating AMG...wt f are you talking about??? I prefer M over AMG sure, but AMG is fantastic too. I just recently drove the C63 AMG and my mind is still blown.
You're so wrong with all your statements it's almost laughable. I replied to your topic because I admid that I am a BMW fanboy, but I am everything but a blind Scott follower (that's why I replied [rolls_eyes]). It's ridicilous to claim such a thing, and make a generalisation like that.

I don't see why not, all the basics will be present and making it will be cheap. I'm sure there are a few who want something like this. Personally, I'd rather see BMW not make this car and focus on a Z2 roadster/coupé and some other more sporty products...

It's just like the 5er GT. There's no actual need or clear purpose for its existance, but in this day and age of platform maximisation, parts sharing, increasing customer demand for individuality, shift towards products that fit the customer's lifestyle rather than just their basic demographics... it's only natural for BMW to offer niche models that are in line with their sporty-youthful-fun to drive image.

I envision the 3er GT to be something along these lines (maybe the 3er GT M might if it gets the green light):

Or it could simply be a 2-door version of the 3er Touring, with just a slightly sleeker roofline, something like this:

It will be a classic shooting break or a vanish shooting break ?

Amen Klier!

Finally, we agree on something. And I thought it wouldn't happen this year............;)

I think I'm a lot tougher regarding some of BMW's new iniatives than most here and I can't begin to describe how much I hate the new "Joy" marketing campaign.

But I am still a big fan.

LOL, I've never seen anything about this joy campain, other than here on GCF, so it's not bothering me much (at all :D )

All the time in their tv ads here in the USA lately, tis the season to choose the "joy" of a BMW apparently.:t-banghea

I've maybe seen a BMW ad on Dutch tv once in my life. Not much more. They do occasionally make radio ads in Holland, but that's about it...

This is our media presentation for the 1er that was launched in 2007.
BMW 1 Series (three-door) : Multimedia highlights
BMW 1 Series (five-door) : Multimedia highlights
As you can see we always had the term "Joy" as a key note of product marketing. The first 1er marketing on the launch in 2004 termed the phrase "Prinzip Freude " or known as "The Principle of Joy"
Both campaigns have been successful in bringing new customers and especially those of a younger demographic to the BMW brand.
The 1er has proved especially popular with first time BMW customers and more importantly customers who outgrow the MINI either by means of family or flexibility have migrated to the 1er instead of other competitors in the compact segment.

Regarding the RFK. Many within BMW reckon the concept works much better with a more compact vehicle, A mixture of Coupe and Shooting brake it's an alternative to alternatives. It takes it's direction from the RFK by having an elegant sloping coupe like roof with a Touring like tailgate and shallow glass area.
Although badged as GT it will continue the Progressive nature of the 5er GT but submit flexibility and luxury for being more sporty and dynamic.

Being based on the 3er it has the profitability scale going for it and BMW has always wanted to do a Shooting Brake type car , the 3er gives reason for another additional model as BMW begin it's expansion of it's core 1er and 3er product lines in the next decade.

Understand and appreciate that SCOTT27, just don't believe it translates well to a more mature 5 series audience (like me) or to more "serious" sport-oriented models.

But if it works, success speaks volumes.

As I said, still a fan and my last 5 cars have been new 3's and 5's.
