If this car really does catch on here in the U.S. and doesn't take too many 3-Series sales, BMW will indeed pass Lexus to become #1 in luxury brand sales.

Well it has a real chance of becoming a reality. BMW isn't that far behind Lexus as it is and Lexus is really spent as far as new car intros for the next coupe of years, outside of maybe a IS Coupe/Convertible. The rest of their range is no more than 18 months also, excluding their SUVS. Their only big product intro will be the next RX, due next year as a 2009 model. We'll see what happens. I think BMW can do it.

Speaking of that, care to submit 2006 Lexus vs. BMW sales in US?
Thanks in advance!

AutoWeek is saying it arrives here in October, I can't see that...way too early after its worldwide debut.

Lexus - 322,434
BMW - 274,432
Well ok maybe they are a little further apart then I first thought, at least for 2006 they were. I'll have to see what they current YTD numbers look like.

If the 1 and X6 do the trick in sales against Lexus I'll have to get my old BMW fanboy t-shirt out!

2007 YTD numbers (Jan - May):
BMW: 119,359
Lexus: 131,333
So I guess in the end of the year Lexus will be ahead for approx. 30,000 units at best.
Mind BMW intend to sell approx. 30,000 of coupe + cabrio a year (in a full year), + at least 15,000 of X6 vehicles a year, so ...![]()
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!
Karma for making me laugh!
edit: $h!t! Have to spread it 1st, but i won't forget!
