While i respect your view mate..
The S class interior is solid brilliantly executed and easy to use evrerything and i am talking from my own experience of my Dads car which i drive a lot whenever he is not around i use it.The interior we have is standard grey with standard wood and the car is just awesom i cant fault much except i feel there should be more mini or small compartmants to put stuff. And i have sat in a & which is also very good interior but i felt it was a bit normal Bmw interior as in simlar to X5 the switches were very nice it was one with the titanium type finish..but in terms off quality the S was ahead even though it was older the & was new and the cup holder seemed like it was broken or going to break soon..
I've driven and been driven in many MB S Class, not the facelift yet, and I can hand on my heart say the interior materials and qualities, whilst practically negligible due to the craftsmanship and execution in both, in the BMW 7 Series are superior to that of the S Class... And I drive a 750i to work every day so I'm well aquatinted with the quality of the BMW
Clearly MB liked the interior of the E65 to all but copy and paste it, minor details and execution aside, into the W221...
