Maybe

you should do a video on the Taycan’s positives and expose this charlatan. I think you will be doing the car community and Porsche a big service… also I’d be up to support you if you ever decide to conduct a ’sting’ operation/video(s) on this guy

Believe me, I've considered doing just that on a number of occasions, the last time being when he muted me from his channel (he's also muted anybody else who points out his lies). Unfortunately, as @Sunny points out, it won't get much of a response. On top of that, I don't have the skills to make a video as slick as he does (he's an ex-graphic designer who vlogs full time), and I'm the first one to admit his videos are well made, albeit full of completely false information.

Finally, during the period before he muted me, and I was able to post in the comments section of his YouTube channel, I *did* manage to point out to his "fans" various aspects of his videos that were false, and the responses I got were mostly accusing me of being an "EVangelist" and "brainwashed by the global elite". The thing is, his core audience are middle-aged, small-minded people, who live quite simple lives, and don't like change. His videos tell them what they want to hear, and as @Sunny also points out, they've already made their minds up and aren't interested in facts.

He once told me he had a Taycan Turbo S on order to replace his current one, but that turned out to be a lie. I think he just made it up because I had a GTS on order. The guy is very odd.

This is a WhatsApp message he sent me just before we met to discuss a filming plan, admitting he doesn't tell the truth in his videos...

Maybe because his gentleman’s sausage is a little tiny and withered

SA has potential to be totally sustainable as we have a coastline that is over 2000km long and in most coast line areas there is alot of waves been formed which can be used to run offshore wave generators and feed the power to the land to substations near the beaches.

We have some windy cities, such as Cape Town and Port Elizabeth where they can build wind farms off shore and onshore. Wind generators can be installed at the top of high rise buildings and feed power to parts of the city.

Solar energy can also be highly beneficial as we have alot of sunny days each year.
How Many Hours of Sunlight Does South Africa Get?
The entire sub-Saharan Africa, with no exception for South Africa, has great potential for solar power implementation. South Africa sees on average between 1543 – 2264 kWh/m2 a year. Simplified, this translates to 4.1 – 6.3 peak sun hours a day, with the Northern Cape experiencing the higher end of that spectrum and Kwazulu-Natal seeing the lower end – having at least 4 hours of peak sunlight is best for solar panels.
You can also add biogas from the decomposition of all kinds of organic waste, to your list. Methane is more or less just as harmful as carbon dioxide from greenhouse gas perspective, so burning it to generate electricity is a smart move....

But most governments aren't too smart....

But so is Big Sam's sausage; but hey, don't tell anyone. :censored:

If even Ford are struggling to sell EVS, no wonder that rivian, Lucid and fisker are in a dire place.

$5-5.5b expected loss for ford's ev business this year. $130k loss per ev sold.

Tesla is also on a downtrend.

Chinese on the other hand....

Can't wait to see full reviews of the Xiaomi SU7. That car can be a game changer

I look forward to Chinese EV MPVs becoming more widely available in Europe.

I f'ing don't. I don't look forward to ANY Chinese brand in Europe (that's a good looking Van though, not gonna lie LOL).

Anyways, the Americans don't like Chinese cars much either: They just put 100% tariffs on Chinese cars coming to the U.S. Good riddance and bye bye.

The EU of course is too slow and backwards to respond accordingly. It's the EU market that's being flooded, there hardly are any Chinese cars in the US to begin with.

How come?

They kill our industry with dump prices. They have done this in many sectors over the last few decades and it's time to stop it once and for all, so I fully support the US bi-partizan 100% tariffs laid upon them.

The Chinese are just better and more efficient at manufacturing, they have gone beyond copy paste in so many industries and are now innovating and leading, the main difference is wages, where the company I work for pays manufacturing staff €30-40 per hour the Chinese are paid €10 or less, materials cost is roughly the same, they're going to win.

If India ever sorts itself out it could also become a manufacturing powerhouse, they have the people and the low wages to make it happen, they just need the organisation to be better.

It's funny how US is imposing taxes on Chinese stuff , but when US wants to sell stuff in other parts , is "free market / capitalism"

Even if I do (somehow) support EU labor force , I also do NOT support the current EU car prices strategy.

It has gone waaay too far.

And anybody who does not want Chinese cars , is a moron that is overly attached to some sort of inner ignorance.

I don't want to support EU labor force by paying way too much for 2 tons of plastic ( sorry , BLACK PIANO ) , with little to no evolution in the car industry in the past 10 years .

And I won't support EU labor force by giving the big EU car manufacturers even more profit.

Those idiots who hate Chinese cars because they affect EU cars , should look at how much money did ALL the EU car manufacturers make since COVID19.

Profit , not sales ! Daimler has made more profit in a year than in it's previous 4 years , combined ! And examples keep flowing...

Also, people that point out that Chinese cars are subsidized : SO WHAT? WHAT IS WRONG with a country that GIVES BACK TO THE PEOPLE? Since when this is a bad thing to receive FREE money? ( you pay less for something ; if it's that hard to understand )

Is it bad for other manufacturers? Of course . But does it affect me in any way shape or form ? Hell no !

Yip, westerners were only too happy to invest in US companies in the 90s who offshored their manufacturing operations to Asian countries to "deliver greater stakeholder value through higher margin".

I agree - I feel it's Chinese' discipline and structure which gives them a competitive advantage. Indians have a way to go in this area still.

My perspective on what's bad:

-Corporate dumping
-High prices for consumers

In theory EVs were meant to be cheaper to manufacture than ICEs and as a result, be cheaper for consumers. This has not manifested. EVs are expensive and if you use public charging networks, the savings on "fuel" are negligible and don't compensate for the price premium over ICEs cars.

Chinese car manufacturers are bringing the cost of EVs don't to the same levels as ICE equivalents.

And anybody who does not want Chinese cars , is a moron that is overly attached to some sort of inner ignorance.

Not necessarily. Assuming they're crap is probably ignorance, but not wanting them on the market is a decision that can be based on economic or cultural reasons, which is perfectly valid. Having money flow out of your economy to a country that is launching cyber attacks on your national infrastructure, whilst cosying up to a warlord dictator whose state media is advocating nuclear annihilation of your country, is at the very least, not preferable.

It's also not unreasonable to take an ethical or moral stance on the rights of the worker, or environmental concerns... so while I wouldn't single out China in this respect, certainly not as the worst, I can see why that would lead people to favour products and services from the EU.

Clearly though, some peoples top priority is their own bank account, which I suppose is understandable for those likely to be immune to the effects of a population undermining their own economy. I mean, ****, I hate my country and I don't have a nationalist bone in my body, but even I understand the need for a certain degree of protection for your own domestic economy.

Utter nonsense. They have low wages slave labour and they have free billions from the CCP.

They've made massive strides even just in the last 20 years. The thing is, living in the EU means pretty much everywhere has workers rights that are worse than ours - and we pay a price for that... it also makes it hard not to be hypocritical in your opinions of what people should buy from where.

By copying what we do here in the west. It's easy to make massive strides when your starting point is zero.

it also makes it hard not to be hypocritical in your opinions of what people should buy from where.

Yeah, well I don't care about opinions. I care about free and equal trade, not the crap China is pulling on the world.

It's funny how US is imposing taxes on Chinese stuff , but when US wants to sell stuff in other parts , is "free market / capitalism"

Staggering, unbelievable and even dangerous ignorance.
I honestly didn't expect anything less from you.

Ahhh, you personally. But of course.
Anyways, yes it will affect you personally, you're just too shortsighted to see how.
