If/when do you think BEVs will be 50% of annual new car sales in China, the US and EU?

There is something rotten in Denmark.
Everyone backs down (except some), what will be the situation analysis why there is a certain setback in EV sales?
They are ugly?
Have all environmentalists already bought?
Do dissatisfied buyers speak ill of them to future buyers?
Much more offer than electrical charging structures?

I see that some manufacturers consider 2024/25 lost in that regard
The early majority have bought EVs. The barriers to deep penetration have been well documented:

-Considerably higher purchase price than an equivalent ICE car. The exception is Model 3/Y
-Low range + lagging charging infrastructure.
-A percentage of adults cannot charge at home or at work.

Addendum:
-Performance has peaked quickly. A 3-5 year old Model S is not obsolete by modern standards. It has a competitive range, acceleration and teach features.

All very valid points, thanks.
With the army of market researchers and the "experience" of projecting into the future they have, I'm surprised it caught them off guard (again, just some)

I agree. It's as if no one save this slow down and u-turn by regulators coming. The aggressive push towards EVs was also driven by the arms race towards autonomous cars. Despite hundreds of billions invested, autonomous driving was not been solved, several start-ups have failed and legacy manufacturers are rolling back their investment into the technology.

If several car manufacturers are postponing the launch of new EV models, sales of current models must be VERY BAD. As it customer orders are in decline and stock models on showrooms are being scooped up quickly enough despite discounts and 0% APR.

I hope they keep postponing. BMW's NK will have complete free reign. No delays here.

In a twist, Fiat could add gasoline engine option to 500e

The current ICE Fiat 500 will not be homologated for Europe after July, and the EV version's sales are slowing. A new gasoline variant could solve several problems for Fiat.

That's why Bentley postpones its electric car plans

NICK GIBBS

Bentley's profits fell last year.
The brand has postponed the launch of its first electric car and is betting on plug-in hybrid propulsion for a longer time. CEO Adrian Hallmann explains the reasons.

Production at Bentley: The brand manufactured fewer cars in 2023 than the previous year.

Bentley has postponed the market launch of its first battery electric vehicle, as well as its goal of going fully electric by 2030. The manufacturer has focused its attention on plug-in hybrid versions of these models. However, the Volkswagen Group's luxury brand said it remains committed to its strategy of switching to purely electric vehicles. The first all-electric car is scheduled to be introduced in 2026, with customer deliveries beginning in 2027. The reason for the delay was software-related technical issues and other platform-related concerns, said Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark.

Painful for a Taycan. Owner also disclaimed that some Porsche dealerships don't buy or accept Taycans as trade in. They have too many of them and are more interested in selling new rather than old ones.

Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries are a promising alternative to lithium–ion batteries (LiBs), the most common rechargeable battery technology. As sulfur is abundant on Earth, these batteries could be cheaper and more environmentally friendly than LiBs, while also potentially exhibiting higher energy densities.

Please don't take anything this guy says seriously.

I've met him, which I've previously spoken of on here. He asked me twice to film a video driving from Holland to Yorkshire. He lives two streets away from my mum in Leeds. I pulled out of it when it became clear he wasn't going to be filming an accurate video, but rather one that creates the most engagement. In other words, "lying". All his videos of his Taycan are full of complete lies, not only around the car, but also charging. When I started to point out his lies on his YouTube channel and on Twitter, he blocked me and threatened to tell my employers. Tell them what, I've no idea.

Just looking at the screenshot, I know for a fact his Taycan didn't cost £120,000. Not even close. It's a lightly specced RWD base model. I know because I saw it when we had our meeting.

A few months ago he uploaded a YouTube video which suggested he had cancer, but it was only at the end he revealed he didn't. What an absolutely repugnant individual.

P2-Na2/3Ni1/3Mn2/3O2 is a typical layered oxide cathode material for SIBs, characterized by its unique structural features that provide rapid ion transport pathways and lower diffusion barriers for Na+ ions. Consequently, it has garnered significant attention from numerous researchers.

I watched an interesting documentary last week on SA's energy problems, you're pretty well f.ucked. I don't understand why the government isn't investing in large scale solar along with onshore and offshore wind.

Don't get me wrong I'm not upset or annoyed at Norway's decision. I converted, I wouldn't go back unless I could buy a nice weekend car.
You can probably call the SA Government ignorant, stupid and backwards. They have no plan for anything positive for the future of SA.

SA has potential to be totally sustainable as we have a coastline that is over 2000km long and in most coast line areas there is alot of waves been formed which can be used to run offshore wave generators and feed the power to the land to substations near the beaches.

We have some windy cities, such as Cape Town and Port Elizabeth where they can build wind farms off shore and onshore. Wind generators can be installed at the top of high rise buildings and feed power to parts of the city.

Solar energy can also be highly beneficial as we have alot of sunny days each year.
How Many Hours of Sunlight Does South Africa Get?
The entire sub-Saharan Africa, with no exception for South Africa, has great potential for solar power implementation. South Africa sees on average between 1543 – 2264 kWh/m2 a year. Simplified, this translates to 4.1 – 6.3 peak sun hours a day, with the Northern Cape experiencing the higher end of that spectrum and Kwazulu-Natal seeing the lower end – having at least 4 hours of peak sunlight is best for solar panels.

I have studied for some time the possibility of ocean generators , and is not very good. Too many moving parts , too many points of failure over time.

The ocean is a very harsh environment

But the rest , yea , SA will not live enough to see that happen.

you should do a video on the Taycan’s positives and expose this charlatan. I think you will be doing the car community and Porsche a big service… also I’d be up to support you if you ever decide to conduct a ’sting’ operation/video(s) on this guy

He could, but hardly anyone will click on it. Cause it won't be sensational click bait stuff.

And what's in it for him? Educate the dumbasses of the world? Even if he undertakes that, it is not like facts will change the mind of f#cking idiots. So he will be just wasting time creating content for the 10 people who already know.
