It does look more exotic but doesn't look as good IMO. The guy who drives the 5er posted that seeing both next to each other made him depressed as his 5er looked "stodgy and plain next to it". I didn't feel the same in the least when I saw my car next to it, however I'm obviously sold on a well done 3-Box look and just can't fully jive with what the A7 has to offer.
I do like the front as well, and if you see the car next to a row of Audi's, who's fronts to a non Audi enthusiast can seem indistinguishable from each other unless you see them right next to each other, it clearly is the nicest looking of the bunch by far. I also think the sides look promising but the hunchback hatchback totally throw it off. As for the rear, it looks like some alien 80's movie, and I always thought it would date fast, but it's already looking very dated to me, so it's performing even more poorly in that aspect than even I would have thought.
I did test drive that particular model, and can't say enough good things about the drive. Almost as comfortable as my E-Class, and a better balanced and sportier drive than both the E and 5-Series. Very impressive chassis, and the most underrated feeling "300" HP motor I've ever felt. Much stronger feeling and statistically performing than the 535i and 2012 E350 who both have 300 HP as well.
