Vs [Autozeitung] BMW 750i vs. Mercedes S 500 vs. Lexus LS 600h

Vehicle comparisons, matchups, debates, performance battles, and head-to-head discussions.
The body roll of the Lexus is disgusting to say the least!

They should have tested a A8 instead of the 7 series. The 7er just got voted one of the worst cars ever in the past 50 years

The 7-series is still a great car!! It's good looking and the engines are absolutely great, too!!! :t-cheers:

That's absoultely loads of crap, they may not like the looks of the 7er but it's no doubt one of the most tech advanced cars in the world, out of curiousty why they voted for it?

LoL that list. :D its not crappy car and we all know it but I would love to know their reasons for it.

Yeah I agree its not a crap car but arguably the least accomplished of the big 4 (phaeton included here)

It probably got voted one of the worst cars based on looks going by the rest of the cars from 1990 onwards that also got voted the worst. I would have to agree with them if it is indeed that what made them include the 7er in the list.

I found their explanation. The reason for adding 7er was because of the complex I-Drive and the Bangle butt :D What else is new !

I don't know what your definition of "accomplished" is, but I am sure by Audi/VW sales department's definition, the 7er is quite more accomplished than their A8 or Phaeton.

Overall a better car in regards to drive, interior, exterior, comfort, straightline performance, price and handling.

There are tons of reviews out there that have placed the A8 easily above the 7 series.

The 7er along with the x3 is bmws worst car.

Better shots of this 7er

The 7 series looks great inside and out, but it's "WAY" to difficult to use. When I drove it at a BMW event it took atleast 15 minutes for me to figure out how to move the seat back.

Luxury should not be a struggle and that my only issue with the 7 series.

Yes, overall the Audi is better, but don't tell me phaeton is better.

Ok the phaeton is very arguable due to price though.

that bmw looks like in the wrong street, very old and outdated car

The bodyrolling of the Lexus is shocking me in every test... Look at that compared to the others! And that, despite the fact that the Mercedes still is more comfortable... Whereas the BMW is much more sportier.

I think the new LS is the definition of the technical overkill. They put all the money and R&D in the gadgets, equipments and gimmicks, but forgot to develop the car... So the interior is bad-looking and not very well finished compared to the others, the drivetrain is totally outperformed by the competition... And it does not have more useful gadgets than the others.

And of course, it has no charm at all, no spirit or philosophy like the German competition has.

Haha!! the complete detail review of the whole Lexus design philosphy in so very little words. I couldn`t have said it better. Technically Lexus still has a long way to go in this business.

Anyway this is another smashing victory for the S-Class. Mercedes should be proud!
The W221 S-Class might be the best S-Class since the 560SEL.

The Lexus is a very special car. The way the power switches seamlessly from the battery to the engine and vice versa is a novelty in itself. Plus, it has brake regeneration mated into the hybrid system. No doubt, the Germans will come up with it soon, but we've got to give Lexus the credit for doing everything within the shortest time, and doing it well. For an efficient, relatively cheap and quick automobile, I take the Lexus in this comparison. If I was a billionaire, then maybe I can forget about the Lexus's green intentions and get the S500.

PS. the entertainment system in the LS must be tried to be appreciated. Bar none, bar none...

Lexus's green intentions

Hate to break it to you, but anyone who really cares about the environment won't be driving a car as large and overweight as the Lexus LS600h etc., regardless if hybrid or not. :t-cheers:
