Continental GT AutoWeek - 2007 Bentley Continental GTC (short take)

OUR TAKE: When you’re asked to supply a convertible for the local homecoming parade, is anything cooler than this high-bling machine? Nope. (Okay, so we brought two cars: the Bentley and our long-term Jaguar XKR. Because we could.) For sophomore boys whose dad is behind the wheel, the GTC scores points with your male and, more important, female friends.

The homecoming princess and her escort rode high on the back and enjoyed the mighty thrum of the engine, the supple and gloriously stitched leather (yes, taking shoes off was mandatory) and the unobstructed perch—which, when you’re waving to adoring crowds of little kids, is a double bonus. The real question is whether the hooting and hollering were for our prince and princess or for the Bentley. Okay, a bit of both.

Is there a downside? Yeah, the bar is raised, and next year’s cruiser had better be no slouch.
