Comparison tests Automotorsport: MB C220 Bluetec/ 320d / S60 D4/IS300h F

Apparently we can go on and on nagging about it but I perfectly understand if a reviewer doesn't feel the same about every single car. Its not about being invalid. It's same for me.

Again you are missing the point I'm making. You like how a 3 series drives so if their most luxurious model retained a bit of sportiest surely you'd still prefer that over something that solely felt comfortable.

I don't see how a preference should change regardless of the size. Maybe it's me who's wrong I don't know but I generally prefer a certain style of driving experience and chose accordingly which is why I'm driving a RRSport and not its big brother.

Are you kididng me? I dont like how the 3-series drives.

If they drove 75% as good as Fiesta ST I would be happy ;) M3/M4 are the ones Im praying for....

So what you are saying is you like a very sporty car with firmer than usual suspension and a crisp turn-in, so my point is that no normal Merc should appeal to your taste especially an S-class. That's my point you don't change what you like based on the size of car.

I accept and understand that S-class is more towards comfort/space/style rather than sport/fun. A reviewer have the right to have a different opinion about another car. Either is my bad english or my point isn't getting through what I'm talking about.

Everyone I've spoken to - and I have yet to drive the ST - including someone who holds an executive post at another manufacturer says the Fiesta ST is a fantastically good car to drive - especially on a circuit.
I have no doubt that I will enjoy a spirited drive in the ST immensely. I also have no doubt that I will hate driving it around JHB doing 600 km per week for business purposes. Been there, done that. Ultimately, it's the driver that makes the car and not the car that makes the driver and I am sufficiently skilled to have fun in my F30 too.

600 km a week, I now understand from where that sudden diesel love comes. 330d M-Sport with the adaptive dampers... just do it, you know you want to...

I'd change one number to that suggestion, swap the 3 for a 530d M/Sport. Still plenty sporty but more capable of swallowing those miles whilst keeping you refreshed at the end.

I understand and respect your opinion - as always. ST is a joy to drive, anyone who know something about driving are going to love the car. Unlike C-class, the steering comes loaded with feel, you can tell whats going on between the steering wheel and the road. The steering is super quick, responsive and precise. You just steer and point the direction and the car goes there with precision. And then there is the glorious slick manual gearbox.
Other people like the car too, I've seen people watching the ST. I've been challenged by other drivers and kids like it, just the other day a 10 year old kid, someone I never met before started to ask questions about my car. So cute, haha!

Have read Swedish mags for years and one thing that stands out is the performance figures (not always, but often). They are weird compared to what other mags achieve. Have never understood it, why they r slow compared to others, or one specific model deviates, not specifically Mercedes, but generally speaking. I know there's a risk with German mags they rate German cars "differently", but still prefer these tests in regards to performance figures. 0-140 kmh is too slow to make any good impression on acceleration. 200 is better.
The same goes for Finnish mags, they end up with weird performance figures, over 1-1.5 s slower 0-100 kmh than factory claimed times. The testing methods should be standardized, as well as the level of professionalism for test drivers. As well as quality/performance goes new cars have small differences all in all.

... until it bites back. ;)

Yeah, at that that point you'd wish for RWD to control a power slide.

Also, why the F are we comparing a Ford Fiesta to a W205? I mean......really????

0-140 kmh is too slow to make any good impression on acceleration. 200 is better.

Agreed. And 300 is even better for the powerful ones. If we compare 0-200/0-250/0-300 km/h, BMW M will come out on top from the Germans. Pretty much always. With those sprints, AWD advantage can piss off. Love it.

Yeah, that's a drawback of electric steering (

And why is AMG using electric steering and no hydraulic system?
