I find it amazing that the manual TTRS can launch harder and faster, dsg must be torque limiting in 1st and 2nd!
 
Ingear times show there is no substitute for capacity. That said after listen to this and other videos it's the Audi engine I prefer to have under the hood, it's got a wickedly sexy note going on.

I don't like the engine sound from rs3. TTrs sounds so much better.

That may well be so but the noise difference from inside either of the two Audi cars is not that huge and it's this where I don't like the 1M by comparison, otherwise it's frigging great. IMO sound plays a big part of the experience and why muscle cars continue to use big hairy v8 engines under the hood.

I agree. All these new hybrids and EVs are getting me worried that we might loose one of the things that is truly important for us enthusiasts: sound. I don't think it will be much fun hearing all that electrical bzzzz on the streets 20 years from now...

Anyway, back to the present times, I'm glad that 1 M won another comparison. It just shows you that guys at BMW make great cars.
 
I just love the way 1M looks. RS3 doesnt move me the same way.

+1 about the looks, BMW gave the 1M the best body kit imaginable. Just wished it sounded a bit better, smooth the in-line six may be but ultimately musical in turbo form it is not.
 
Ultimately it is a numbers game. BMW had modified their business model where efficient production and cost reduction was a huge goal.

I mean, sure some people can come with the reasons of CAFE and EPA requirements, but definitely that is completely irrelevant since they are entire fleet average requirements.

That black TT RS is pure ***! Wow. With the 7sp DSG Car and Driver got unbelievable numbers out of the TT RS:
Anything but a girl's car. I'd drive one in a heartbeat and would pick the RS3 over the 1M as well.

0-100 in 9.3
1/4 in 12.1 at 113mph
 
Maybe,but the TTRS is nicer then both of them.:)
I wouldnt call 1M a beautiful car, it looks cool, muscular, aggressive and with attitude moreso than rs3 and tt-rs. If Im going to use the word beautiful then Z4 beats them all.
