Comparison tests AutoBild Sportscars - Peugeot RCZ R vs Porsche Cayman PDK

^ You'll see me in the outside of the corner drifting past you! Now make an appointment @ Sachsenring (does an M3 GTS count? It's 3 seconds quicker than the RCZ R :D :D :D )

LOL

GTS vs Peugeot.....but then again I am no pro driver like you are...You will have to take something even slower!

Part of a trackday package the wife bought me at Rockingham included a trip in a Mini Cooper S as a passenger, also on the track at the time was a Green Gallardo which had its mirror completely fill by Mini with one steely eyed, focus and super gifted driver and a quivering wreck of a bad passenger that was me.:nailbiting:

So REAL talent isn't easily beaten. If he's good then Klier you'd best make sure he's in a 2CV.

No of course, we need something that's able to take a corner.....

Yeah and I want to avoid the seasickness :D

@Deckhook
Exactly. Every time I'm on a track there's a 911/M3/C63 and the likes trying its best to keep up with me... no matter what car I'm in.

PS: Smart people never push their cars near the limit... and that's the smart thing to do when you are an amateur just having fun. You can beat a "civilian" in a Lambo with your moped if the track doesn't have too many long straights :D

People find it bazaar when I tell that story but to me its logical because very few untrained driver either know the racing line or how to carry speed through the corner, usually due to them not use all the available track despite thinking they are.

They are off throttle 50% of the track. They brake TOO early... sometimes even have to speed up after braking just to get to the corner when/if they realize that they almost bring their cars to a full stop 50m. before the corner :D
There's no comparison.

German Sport Auto compared the very same Cayman testcar to the RCZ R and the TTS. This time -at least in Hockenheimring- the Porsche was faster (1:14.5 vs 1:14.9 min). Peugeot was quicker at the straightline and scored the same points at the final ranking. But the author chose the Porsche as a winner, despite the huge price-difference.

This is supposed to be about which is the best sportscar, and the fugly Peugeot wins because it's 20k cheaper? Meh!

The Porsche is the better car, the Peugeot most bang for the buck?

Wow really surprised by the outcome of this test and really don't believe the Peugeot can beat a Porsche. The Cayman is the best car no doubt about it, mid engine/RWD against front engine/FWD will equal no contest for handling fun and precision in favour of the Cayman.
