No, a good selling SUV in Western Europe never ever goes off road. It's a complete non issue.

And I don't have to accept a test between a GLA and Macan. It's a BS test.

Then why call it an SUV it's like calling a car with a sunroof an opentop simply because you can see the sky when open, at some point there must be a line in the sand to say it must be capable of this to have a right to be called the SUV.
 
It's a SUV because of it's shape, not because of it's function. Pretty simple.

And all these SUVs have off road capability to some degree. But most SUVs don't see more than a dirt road, and that's already pushing it.

Can't agree here the secret is in the name Sports Utility Vehicle, function has to come ahead of the shape.

Which brings me back to needing to include some basic offroad duties in their testing, anyone can make them handle well at the expense of offroad but it takes clever engineering to make them do both. ;)

It all depends on which part of Western Europe you live in, here in Norway having an SUV with actual off road ability is very useful.
