Facit:
Despite same achievement and similar price AUDI S3 and BMW 130i could not be more different: From Ingolstadt an optically potent Kerlchen with the equipment with high order and beautiful details comes as well as the all-wheel drive and loud turbo-twitter, which inspire by much thrust and traction. From Munich comes at least optically more restraint. Series chassis, steering element and six-course transmissions are however clearly tauter and more sportily laid out.

S3 / 130i
Acceleration of 0-100 km/h 5.7 s 6.1 s
Price test car 35,150 euro 32,750 euro

No winner declared and 0-100km/h is only factory times and not verified by Autobild.
IMO a really bad review coming from Autobild.

I'd agree with that :t-banghea

Thanks for posting it anyways! Between these two, i think i'd go with the S3, it may not be as exciting as the 130i, but i much prefer it's exterior.

well, I havent driven S3 but I have tested 130i with M.package and I totally love the car, both looks and the drive so for now, 130i would be my choice.
here is my 130i review:

I never understood reviews where they don't actually test the car. :t-hands:

Pointless.

Thanx for the pictures. Oh how I love the looks of the S3. Perfection. The Beemer disappeares in the back of the S3's amazing looks!

No matter how good the 2,0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine is, it just can't challenge BMW's perfectly smooth I6 engine. In addition to that the 1er is the only RWD vehicle in this vehicle class. 130i for me, please! ;)

The 130 never got very good reviews from car magazines. Some even said that it's too uncomfortabe and the driver can feel every imperfection of the road in his spine. No doubt that S3 is a much better car for anyone to own unless he is a die hard BMW fanatic.

I went audi and bmw garage 2day to test drive and maybe buy. Maybe I should post up my experience. But then again maybe I shouldnt cause certain BMW fanboys will negative rep me when they read what I hae to say about certain BMW models interiors.

You should post it out of spite, I got the same crap. It's just double standards, they can do it all they want but when someone else does it shit hits the fan. The Karma system is B.S. anyways...

All opinions are welcome ... Just go beyond "Interior is totally crapy & cheap" kind of lines. More elaborated & argumented opinion would be much more appreciated. :t-cheers:

Says who?
Well, do you honestly think that a 4 cylinder engine is on par with the world-famous 6 cylinder engines BMW is known for? It's just common sense that a car with a 4-cylinder transverse engine can't achieve similar driving dynamics and engine refinement as a 6-cylinder RWD car with almost 50:50 weight distribution.

Not to mention from an engineering point of view, an inline-6 engine is a much better proposition.

Why? Are you getting negative karma or what?

What do you mean with this? Do you dislike people who like BMW, for instance me?

and what does it have to do with this thread?

I feel a lot of hostility in this thread.

this thread compares S3 vs 130i and seeing as I sat in a 2.0T and 3.2 v6 A3 yesterday and the 130i I think its relevant to the fact that I should be able to make a comparison between the two, even though that I didnt get to see the top level A3.

The problem with the Karma system is that some people are misusing it by giving negative karma to people whose opinions they do not agree with. That's not what the system is for, is it?

As for the S3 vs 130i, it's once again about personal preference. For instance, some people want what is arguably the sportier drive in the classical sense (130i), some people perhaps prefer the all-weather capability of the Quattro system. It's not like either of these cars can be proven to be objectively better than the other in all (or even most) respects.

Don't like the karma system either. I don't recall ever giving negative karma to someone. Though the MB and Schumi mafias jumped on me a couple of times.

Good post man.
