I knew from the start that the Peugeot 407 wouldn't stand a chance. From what I've read, that beautiful car is actually more comfort biased than sport and hence would get trashed. Plus the engine is pretty old by now. Still a beautiful car, but not as hot as the Audi A5 and BMW 3er Coupe!

I was at an Audi dealer today and I must say, the more I look at the A/S5 the more i like it! Only thing that bothers me is that it looks so big (like in between the 3-series and the 6-series if you are comparing with BMW, and then, by pure looks of it, closer to the 6-series) when being so small inside but then again, its a coupe, they are supposed to be like that

I prefer the looks of the 335d over the A5, although I must say I am beginning to like the looks of the A5.
In terms of performance - I can say because I am yet to drive both.

Not in my eyes.

I've seen A5 vs 3er coupe side by side many times here, and I found A5 looking odd. Proportions are just ill: body (side profile) looks bloated, while greenhouse looks too narrow (especially vs te bloated body). I like wavy shoulder line though. The front looks too squeezed & too rectangular. The rear looks just wrong: boring, dated already, too high.

E92 proportions are much better. Front is much more aggressive, side profile sportier, rear could be more exciting though.

A5 looks much bigger than it really is, while E92 looks exactly the opposite: looking smaller than it really is. Also: E92 looks much more aggressive & sportier, while A5 looks GT-ish and definitely has more presence.


So ... IMO 3er coupe looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better!

i have changed my mnd..the car is just mind blowingly sleek and sexxy..
3er coupe and CLK has NOTHING on it..
nor does any other coupe in that size..at this moment..
a true stunner by audi

For the rest, besides our personal opinions on looks, the 3er is the better car. But that was clear from the beginning, one can't copy the master and expect their product to be better...

What's this copying stuff all about?
As for being better - as it says in the article, it's about personal preference. There is no way to proclaim that the 3er is objectively the better car.
