I'm not speaking of launches from standstill. Its hard to beat a AWD car. And how often are people drag racing.Well, if the seasons of the year with different conditions isn't the real life (like wet in that video), then we always have to wait that the BMW-drivers (or Audi-drivers etc) to get better launches. The tests are the tests, sometimes you won or lose.
I'm not speaking of launches from standstill. Its hard to beat a AWD car. And how often are people drag racing.
But from rolling starts and and in-gear changes the M4 is more flexible and a quicker car than both RS5 and M3 E92. Torque is what M4 got and what the else is lacking.
No doubt the M4 win the RS5 (with NA-engine), with the better torque as well. But when we talking about the rolling starts. How often the people drive rolling starts, in different countries. Some like to drive drag race, some rolling start, some track racing etc. A many different categories to the test cars, just like the carmags do it as well.
What if there is a two M4s, other driver of M4 is a race-driver, and the other is a driver, who doesn't have so much experience about the rolling starts. Well, obviously you know what happened. And the race-driver won with his M4. So did he got the better launch, or does that tell something about the driver or the car. How many starts they drove, and which gear, were the conditions perfect.
So, is the M4 faster than the RS5 in all conditions as well with the rolling starts. I doubt that.
In reality how often do people race? It doesn't happen very much to be honest. People buy these cars for other reasons.
These videos are just for entertaining and doesn't have much to do with reality and how owners use their cars.
PS starting in 50km/h and push the throttle to the floor isnt very hard. Especially not when you have automatic to do all the dirty work![]()
